"We contracted Carl Perry to handle all phases of building our new home in Knoxville. After reviewing several plans, we chose on for the lot we had selected. During construction, we were living out of state and relied on Carl and his project manager to handle all aspects of the bulld. We made several changes to the plans and those changes were quickly budgeted and adopted. We selected all interior and exterior finishes, layed out electrical outlet placements, eithernet and data connection, driveway color and stamping, all with the assistance of Carl and his project manager. Any issues that arose were communicated timely and educated/thoughtful decisions made as we moved forward. Carl's experience and our trust, made a very involved project as easy as possible. As we wrapped up the project, on time and on budget, the warranty period was very brought very minimal issues to Carl. You may notice that I call Carl by first name, as we have become, through the project, good friends."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Sherri did an amazing job. This was more than just laying new carpet. We wanted the carpet to cover most of the new hardwood floor leaving about a 2 foot border around all the rooms. Sherri came out to our home, listens to us describe what we wanted and we were able to discuss the sizes of the carpet needed for each area. The entire process from selecting the carpet to the final installation went smoothly. The results are just beautiful!! We could not be more pleased. We have received so MANY compliments."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a barn is typically 40 to 60 years, but with skillful construction and proper maintenance, it can last up to 100 years. The actual lifespan depends on several factors, including the barn type, materials, usage, and climate. For example, the posts of a pole barn should last 50 years or longer, but if the structure is used for livestock in a rainy climate, it may rot within the first decade. Custom designs with high-end materials tend to last the longest. To get the best estimate for your barn's lifespan, you should consider its material type and intended use.

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.

It may be tempting to DIY the construction of a swing set to save money, but we don’t recommend it. Since children will use the swing set, the entire system must be solid and safe, meaning the cost savings aren’t worth potentially endangering them. Plus, most DIYers will have to build their swing sets out of wood, which won’t last as long as metal or vinyl and introduces the risk of splinters. Instead, hire a local playground equipment installer to ensure the swing set is built safely and efficiently, setting up your kids for fun for years to come.

Whether building a playground or installing a pre-made one is more affordable depends on the materials of each. In most cases, it’s more affordable to build a wooden playground than it is to buy one and have it professionally installed, but it might be less expensive to invest in a pre-made plastic playground, even if you pay a professional to install it. Wooden playgrounds tend to last longer, but as children age, they will become less valuable. Overall, it may be most affordable to have a pro install a pre-made plastic playground.

If you’re building a pole barn in place of a traditional home, lenders usually don’t offer traditional mortgages for these structures. You can also expect higher insulation costs and building permits may not be allowed in your area. Even if you’re just using a pole barn as storage or as a shelter for animals, these structures are less durable than steel buildings and require more maintenance.
