My deck is absolutely perfect and all in composite so I won’t have to worry about maintenance! They worked with us to achieve what we wanted while making some good recommendations, and the end result is well-built and beautiful! I am new to Tennessee and badly needed a new deck/room/ceiling remodel as my existing project was a mess, AND incomplete. With a little research, Smokey Mountain Deck Builders was my choice by a recommendation from Home Depot. I must say to ALL the individuals, from the first phone call to the last cleanup, I am extremely satisfied with the kindness, professionalism, and precise work done by your group of amazing people. All my calls and texts were answered, and always with patience and respect. Nick, the owner is a refreshing breath of fresh air in an otherwise sketchy industry. His skills and kindness far exceed his years! It seems sometimes just getting someone out to LOOK is a mission! Nick and his team came out and really brainstormed with me to come up with ideas for the finished project. He and his team were very patient with me and after a short time, the plan and budget were agreed upon. Long story short, the existing, unfinished room now has a BEAUTIFUL new deck, Cedar rails, Amazing Barn Doors, “Industrial” Metal Ceiling, and a Trex Rain Escapes Waterproof deck system! The level of precision, the attention to detail, and the solid construction are impressive. Smoky Mountain Deck Builders was the middle of three estimates in cost. We found them to be very professional and thorough throughout the job. Jeremy, the foreman during the entire construction, ran a tight ship, maintained an orderly job site, and found and corrected all problems. I would give him the highest possible rating.

My family and I had an excellent experience working with Nick and his team at Smoky Mountain. From start to finish, we were treated with courtesy and professionalism. Nick thoughtfully considered our concerns in designing and replacing our old dock, and we couldn't be more pleased with the end result. All in all, everyone was very flexible and accommodating as plans changed over the course of building the dock. And they took the initiative to hay and seed the parts of the yard that were muddied by trucks/equipment. Two thumbs up!!

Smoky Mountain Deck Builders were fantastic. Listened to our ideas and made them a reality. Took a nasty old deck and expanded it and screened it in using Trex. Low maintenance and looks beautiful. Wonderful team to work with from start to finish.

I was impressed how much attention to detail that Fran and his team displayed. Fran was especially proud of his handrails (as he should be). They are the most beautiful that I have seen. They added a "picture frame border around the top of the deck that hides the ends of the decking. They added joist tape to protect the tops of the floor joists. If Fran wasn't happy how something was done, he had his crew re-do it. I also found them very friendly and easy to work with (I asked a lot of questions). The downside of this quality of craftsmanship is that it doesn't come cheap, but you do get what you pay for! They also do not stain / paint the deck, so there is an additional expense with another company to do this. Highly recommended.

Very professional and organized. Work was completed on time as promised. Nick and Ed are easy to work with. Jeffrey is a good worker.

Smoky Mountain Deck Builders did an outstanding job, and turned the entire job around in just over a week. The new deck looks excellent and the entire dock is now much more secure and solid. Feels like a new dock.

Nick, Flip and their entire crew were great to work with. We would hire them again, probably not getting other bids. They were punctual, did great work, and had a great attitude. They built a 38 by 22 feet (ft) boathouse for us with 4 ft walkways and a 15 by 8 ft entrance from our existing sea wall. Both Nick and Flip had great ideas, making my design better. The entire crew are very talented builder and fast and steady workers. They were always on time, if not early and worked late on several occasions to make up for rain delays. One of the best contractors we have worked with and we have done 3 home remodels (2 were complete gutting and expansion) and 1 new construction of a two story garage with a studio. Our experience with the Smoky Mountain Deck Builders has left us with an awesome finished product and many compliments from our family and friends. We met with Nick and told him our ideas. He took notes and then added some great suggestions. We wanted a fire pit in the middle and he worked with us on that. The Trex boards were put in at diagonals to the frame and borders. He helped us match the inlaid tiles under the fire pit area to an adjacent patio. Our old deck was 2 steps down from the patio. Nick and his crew were able to design a totally new deck that was raised up so that it was at the same level as the adjacent patio and even increased the total deck size. We had an iron railing that needed to be matched to make this all work so they had someone fabricate the new pieces. They even had someone design and build a door and a box under the Trex boards by our water faucet to hide our small hose. Everything came out like a perfect puzzle with every element matching and looking top notch!!!

The Crew of Smokey Mountain did an amazing job, Jeremy, Richard, Mike, Aaron, Gina. Professional, On Time, Customer satisfaction driven. The line of work isn't easy and it takes true craftsmen to build. The transformation of our space is truly awesome. It is my pleasure to write a review of our dock builder, Smoky Mountain Deck Builders. The more broad description of their work is attention to detail, great work ethics and desire to please their customer. Nick DiRoberto, the owner, listened patiently to our desires and goals and then offered some inventive, cost saving and aesthetically appealing ideas. He even came by several times to observe the project and tweaked a few things to improve the ultimate product. He is very artistic and creative and a pleasure to work with. The first crew sent to build the infrastructure and decking started early and stayed busy all day, every day! Crew chief Flip led by example. He, Marty, Jeffrey, Brandon and Ryan were meticulous in details. Absolutely no corners were cut or jobs rushed. Flip came up with a great way to have a ramp without steps. We loved this. Ryan, Marty and Jeffrey built a really nice storage unit with a custom made door frame that matches any factory frame. Some of the decking boards were cut and shaped several times over until they were satisfied with the results! No nails, only bolts and screws! Precision ruled the day. Fran, Nick’s father, who brings years of experience in dock and deck building, framing etc., joined with them to do the joists and roofing. Again, precision and attention to details were quite noteworthy. The poles were notched to set the joists on adding tremendous strength. Fran and others added high wind connectors to every cross beam, a practice usually done in Florida and other locations more prone to hurricanes and strong storms. All of these workers had a hand in attaching the rub-rails. They even mitered the corners and used special screws designed to prevent cuts to clothing, feet or skin. On the swim platform where the black rub-rail would prove too hot they rounded the decking edge. Mid way through the project we decided to use some carriage lights on each pole. Fran, Jeffrey and Ryan drilled angled long holes in the poles so the wiring would exit close to the ceiling. Very time consuming at no extra cost. Fran made special plates to mount the carriage lights onto , which was very aesthetically pleasing. The 4x4s and 6x6s were rolled to make them fit flush against the poles. Again, attention to detail. The wiring was done to minimize being seen overall. Fran and Brad installed the boat lifts with extreme accuracy. The leveling of the cross beams was nothing short of perfection. Finally, Fran and Patrick added some LED rope lights all around the bottom edge, suggested by Nick to accent the dock. They look great! Fran and Patrick ran the power down to the dock and met all of the inspector’s demands concerning breakers, wiring underground, GFI plugs etc. I need to also mention Gina, the office manager, who came by frequently, ordered any additions in a timely manner and stayed in constant contact with us. She possesses very good people skills. Great job Smoky Mountain Deck Builders! You will always have our gratitude and highest recommendations and endorsements. It was a pleasure to see such pride and attention to detail by all involved. If we plan any other additions to our house or property we will come to you first.

It could not have gone better. The crew communicated each day with us as to what they had outlined to accomplish, they dodged rain showers, and in some cases worked right through the rain. Their attitudes were professional, the entire crew got along and worked to accomplish a re-design and 'better than expected' new deck. The estimate was matched, no overcharges, no surprises. Jeremy was our crew chief and leader as he worked right along side his 4 man crew. They were as meticulous as if they were building a structure for their own personal property. They were careful with materials, almost no waste, and each day the jobsite was left neat and prepared for the next day's work. Highly recommend using them for any structure re-build in decking, screened porch, covered deck, etc. They are the Professionals when it comes to this type of construction. Their Estimator, Gina, is both personal with the customer, making sure that everything is to their liking, and she does an amazing job communicating the process with both Crew and Customer. The crew was professional in duties and work ethic. They were creative in the design of our project which was treated as a work of art and unique in its design, practical in function and enhanced the existing structure and property. The crew is talented, friendly and worked very well together. It was a wonderful experience.

The Deck looks great. The job took about 5 days, they mostly cleaned up as they went except for the pouring of the concrete - that didn't go as perfectly as the deck and they left some debris in the yard. They built a grill nook and stairs as well as a gate, that were done very nicely and they put in a lot of effort.

This was the best experience I have had in 30 years of remodels. From the start with Nick quoting and working on the design to Flip, Brad and Branson that did the installation and finally Gina working on the paperwork and invoicing they all were more than professional. The work was OUTSTANDING. I dealt with the team for the most part remotely as other than the initial quote and the final inspection I was remote. They kept me informed and treated the family professionally but were also kind and considerate. When we were inspected, not only did we pass but the inspector was impressed with the work.
