"The cover to our patio looks great, but ... to install the three posts. they needed to cut into the existing stone patio. After the cover was installed, they did an inadequate job replacing the stones around two of the three posts. I went to the office to pay for the work, told them of this problem, and they told me to send photos and they would get it addressed. I've sent photos (twice), but they have ignored my requests. Lesson learned: don't pay until you are completely satisfied."

Customers say: Quick response

"Working with George and Craig to build our dream patio & outdoor kitchen was everything we could have asked for. Extremely efficient, honest, absolute experts in their crafts and just wonderful people to work with. We were given phased pricing options, help every step of the way (even coming with us to look at pavers in person since I had a few questions) and an overall sense of peace knowing we chose the right team working on our project. Best decision we've made!"

"We wanted a screened deck, maybe just something simple. Uzi was recommended by a neighbor. He came and told us we could have skylights, a ceiling fan, electrical outlets and more. It all sounded too good to be true, but it wasn't! Our new deck looks amazing. His crew came in and built our new deck in about 3 weeks, and it is beautiful! They worked so fast, cleaned up everyday. The craftmanship is beautiful. We love our new deck. I can't say enough about how wonderful the company was and how beautiful our deck is!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

Sustainable materials and energy-efficient designs support greener construction options.

Yes, a screened-in porch will increase your property taxes because it has a foundation and is considered a permanent improvement to your land. The exact amount your taxes will go up depends on the value of your existing home, the value added by the screened-in porch, the size of the structure, your location, and more.

A Florida room is a home addition that has finished walls with windows lining the perimeter, while a screened-in porch, also known as an Arizona room, lacks windows and instead has screens to maintain constant ventilation. Florida rooms provide longer enjoyment throughout the year because they’re closed off and will naturally get heated from the sun, while a screened-in porch will just be the same temperature as the ambient air.

A solarium is a luxury addition to a home and can be an excellent breakfast area or reading space, but that doesn't mean there aren't disadvantages. For one, since the room is made of glass it can look dirty very quickly. Another disadvantage is solariums are notoriously hard to balance temperature and will most likely significantly increase your heating and air conditioning bill. Unlike a greenhouse addition to a house, a solarium won’t help you grow as many plants.

When designing an attached greenhouse, several factors should be considered. These include the orientation and positioning of the greenhouse to maximize sunlight exposure, the structural integrity of the connection to the house, sufficient insulation to regulate temperature, proper ventilation for airflow, and adequate space for plants and pathways. If you’re restricted because of your budget, go with a simpler design to maximize the use of your money.
