"Robert called me straight away after i placed my enquiry at about 11pm, after hearing a bird trapped in the wall. I didn't know what to do, i was so glad someone was responding at that time. Hollis came promptly the next morning, to assess the situation, and then came back later that day to remove the Birds from our vent and the wall inside, he was polite, efficient, and did a great job, without leaving any mess. I would definitely use this company again and recommend him. The service was so quick, i'm glad that poor little bird didn't have to die trapped in our walls. Thank you"

"Kirkland’s came and removed two birds from our dryer and vents and placed covers so it wouldn’t happen again. They also cleaned and deodorized the area. They worked quickly and at a good price and we’ll be calling them again if needed."

"We were awoken to the sounds of banging coming from our A/C unit followed by an awful stench flowing through the house. A search outside with flashlights in hand revealed two skunks who decided to mate in our condenser. We called Critter Control and they were out later that morning. The trapper indicated animals had taken up residence in our crawl space, determined the likely point of entry, and set up traps accordingly. She was knowledgeable and professional; checking the traps regularly and communicating with my wife. She offered some remediation options, but it was not a pushy upsell. I would definitely recommend them to others.

"I interviewed several companies to do this work. Complete offered experienced resources in both the areas of animal control and insulation removal/replacement. Importantly Jordan, their inspector, impressed me with his knowledge, positive attitude and desire to obtain my business. The work began with many hours of thorough inspection of where the mice (and a snake!......no doubt hungry for a mouse dinner) were entering the affected areas followed by repairs of all those entry points to prevent a reoccurrence. Then traps were set and checked every two days by Complete until after several weeks my home was rodent and snake (!) free. Complete involved a number of their experienced resources on the animal control effort ........all professional and all with positive attitudes.............. but the stars were Dale (make sure you ask for him regarding animal control) and Logan. The next step was to remove the old insulation and replace with new. I decided to go with spray foam instead of the batted insulation for a number of reasons.......the most important of which was Larry’s understanding of that technology. Larry is the manger of the spray foam group and is a real star for Complete. As far as I can tell his knowledge may be the best in the industry in Tennessee.......maybe the country!! He had a unique situation with my home and refused to give up until he had solved the problem! His crew Alex, Dylan K, Anthony F and Josh were professional and had positive attitudes even on some of the hottest days of the year when they had to get in their spray foam gear and work in my attic (talk about a weight loss program!!). Although my job seemed big to me it seemed fairly ordinary for the Complete experts. While the action was taking place at my home over several months it was organized and managed by a top group of administrators. Dianne was the star of the group but Emily, Amy and Michelle were also always there to respond to my requests and questions. I felt that these four and the animal control and insulation groups always had customer satisfaction as their ultimate goal. While I hope to never have to undertake a similar project in the future, I certainly know who I will hire if I do!"

"This team was absolutely WONDERFUL! Out if all if the companies in my area this company is THE BEST! They responded in a timely manner and followed up with me. They listened to what the issues were and were willing to find the problem and my problem was probably the worst of all- skunks! Brandon was very professional and went under my house and found the problem! There were several other companies that wouldnt even go into the crawl space to see what the damages were or to locate the den! One even gave me an estimate without ever looking at the area. And one was supposed to come out, cancelled because of traffic and was supposed to come out the next day and never showed up- never called! I greatly appreciate Brandon for being so willing to help me get the job done. Brandon was also able to give me specific details on what is needed to prevent this from happening again as my home is very old - and hes going to make a customized cellar door to stop them from getting in. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who has ANY wildlife issues! Again, they were prompt in responding, Brandon showed up on time, he was VERY professional as well as knowledgeable!! He knew what was needed and did not hesitant to garb up and go under the house. I am very grateful to this company and specifically to Brandon. My entire home was being infiltrated with the smell from a dead skunk! He went in and took care of it when others wouldnt. Now THATS service! Sincerely, Dawn V."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

It can be difficult to know what type of animal is in your attic until you see it. But several clues can help you narrow down the suspects:

  • Sounds: Smaller animals like rats and mice make scurrying and tapping/gnawing sounds. Larger animals like raccoons and opossums make louder clambering noises. Also, note when animals are noisy: Squirrels are active during the day, while rats are busiest at night.

  • Droppings: Rats and mice leave small, rice-shaped droppings (the rat’s version is significantly larger). Bigger droppings belong to larger critters like raccoons. As long as you’re not squeamish, an image search can help you identify what you’re seeing in your attic.

When in doubt, take photos of damage or other evidence and show them to an experienced pest control pro.

Yes, many professionals offer eco-friendly pest control solutions. These services often use non-toxic and environmentally safe products and integrate green practices to ensure effective pest management with minimal environmental impact.

Identifying the specific animal running on your roof at night can be challenging without direct observation. Common nocturnal roof visitors include raccoons, squirrels, opossums, and rats. Raccoons are bigger and can create heavy thumping sounds. Squirrels are agile and may produce rapid scurrying noises. Opossums tend to move stealthily with less noise. Rats can make scratching or gnawing sounds. To determine the culprit, look for signs like footprints, droppings, or damaged areas near the roof. For accurate identification, consult a pest control professional or set up wildlife cameras near potential entry points.

To keep animals out, you must prevent them from entering. As long as they can get in, the problem will persist. That said, consider making your attic less inviting using deterrents like motion-activated lights or ultrasonic devices. Additionally, keeping a well-maintained, clean, and uncluttered attic that you regularly inspect for activity may make the space less attractive to critters.

Keeping birds away from a porch can involve a combination of strategies. Start with cleaning your porch. Remove food, debris, and plants that may be attracting feathered friends. Afterward, install physical deterrents like netting or spikes. Next, top off your porch with a decoy or two—and owl or hawk works. When wondering how to keep birds off the porch, it is always best to use humane efforts that won't harm winged creatures or the environment.
