"Radon 1 did a great job. We wanted to have our existing radon mitigation system removed as it was right by our new screened in porch and have a new one installed in different location in our home. The crew removed the old system and installed the new system in an area far from our screened in porch. The installation was done in an expert manner, the crew were respectful of our property, quiet, clean, wore masks and cleaned up after themselves so you would never know they'd been there, all in less than a day. The pricing was competitive, we feel like we got a fair price. I would hire Radon 1 again."

"Radon One replaced our crawl space vapor barrier with a super high quality vapor barrier that should last for a very long time. The guys working on the job were polite, professional, and even installed a better product than we had ordered due to lack of supply, at no extra charge! We believe Radon One was very knowledgeable about our different options and steered us graciously toward the decision that was the best value for us, instead of trying to upsell services we did not need. Thank you!!"

"I was advised that the house had recently passed a VA inspection and that VA inspections are stringent. Turns out they are not stringent or comprehensive. They check for obvious safety issues and thatâ s about it. The inspector will glance up at the roof and poke his head into the crawl space. Thankfully, I was compelled to look up what a VA loan inspection required and felt that I had been misled to believe that the house would pass any inspection. Lodestar did a thorough inspection from above the house, throughout the house and under the house. 118 items were inspected. I learned that had I accepted the VA inspection I would be stuck with damage resulting from poor construction, standing water in the crawl space and other critical problems that had to be addressed. I am well pleased with the inspection and relieved that the inspection revealed so many problems that no one would expect a house less than ten years old to have. I hope you too will use Lodestar to help you make your home buying experience one that lets you decide whatâ s important to you. A report that gives you the power of knowing what youâ re buying."

"I cannot speak highly enough of David and his team. When I got a moderately high radon reading on the home I was selling, I had to take care of it quickly so that my closing could go through. David worked me into his schedule and came to my home the day I called. He was delightful, did a thorough inspection, and gave me an estimate. I subsequently got an estimate from another vender, and it was $1,000 more! Not only that, but David had figured out a way to perform the remediation without installing unsightly pipes either on the inside or outside of the house. This involved him working in a very shallow attic space to run the pipes up through the heating ducts, but he was happy to go the extra mile. On the day of the work, David and his wonderful assistant Ryan arrived on time, and spent the better part of a day installing the system. They were convivial and professional without being the least bit instrusive  - I enjoyed the experience! After the installation, David explained it to me in detail, and left a radon kit so that my buyers could check the new levels. Not suprisingly, my buyers are more than happy with the results. If you need to have this job done, call David. You won't regret it!

"I really didn't know anything about the remediation of mold, but Lamar gave me a step by step protocol as what needed to be done, what to expect, a timeline and worked 100% with my insurance company. He was always available to answer all of my questions and concerns. Lamar and crew were able to do most of the remediation work except for the roof, so he got quotes from quality roofers for me. I was very pleased with my working experience with Ecostrike and would highly recommend them. e and"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is naturally present everywhere, it is impossible to avoid entirely. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if your home's test results are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

If high radon levels are detected, steps include sealing entry points, installing a mitigation system, and retesting the air regularly to ensure reduced levels.

Radon is the number one non-smoking cause of lung cancer in the United States, but it can cause some other concerning side effects in the meantime. If you have a raspy voice, chest pains, trouble breathing, difficulty swallowing, or any of the above, don’t hesitate to perform radon testing and install a mitigation system as soon as possible.

Long-term exposure increases lung cancer risks. Prolonged homestay individuals and smokers encounter heightened vulnerability and exposure concerns.

The natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water can cause radon to appear in a home. The gas seeps into homes through cracks in foundations, walls, or floors, as well as through gaps around pipes or construction joints. Radon levels are influenced by soil composition, building materials, and ventilation. Poorly sealed or airtight homes can trap radon, allowing it to accumulate.
