"I had Tri-Star Insulation come to my house and install blown-in and reflective insulation in the attic. They were professional, arrived on time and did a great job at a very fair price. I would recommend Tri-Star to anyone in need of insulation products. Thank you Tri-Star!"

"Insulation Commandos is an outstanding company! Excellent communication with Matthew (phone, text and emails), detailed quotes with line item breakdown, photos throughout the process and video, fast service and completion of work. Insulation Commando's went beyond my expectations in my home repairs, I highly recommend them. From the first inspection, material removal, installation of new insulation, air sealing of crawl space, to the attachment of the floor joists.. I knew I made the right decision. They made my house, my home again! I look forward to hiring them to complete additional projects."

"The service tech, Dylan was very informative of everything he was diagnosing & testing. Alissa in the office was incredibly a pleasure to speak with and very friendly and she did her best to get a tech out to my house for a no heat concern. "When I had originally contacted Bia Insulation I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy the process was to set up my appointment with them. Once everything logistically was taken care of, insulation install process came and went in a swift manner. I was highly impressed with not only how professional but personable Jeremy was. He was my go to guy from start to finish and that meant a lot to me. Having the one point of contact throughout the whole process was breathe of fresh air. As far as savings go, my wallet and my wife are VERY happy. We noticed savings on our bill within the first couple of months."

"Ethan explained (in detail) how they would not only set up the panels on top of my home, but that they will also "pressurize" my home, including my air conditioning unit, to ensure that I get the best service possible from my panels!  He explained every detail of cost, taxes, and best of all REBATES!  He explained several methods of purchase, as well.  I have his personal cell phone number in case I have questions, and I can call their office at ANY TIME if I need anything.  So far, my experience with Sunpro Solar (Mandeville, LA) has been nothing short of great!  In a few weeks, I'll have my solar panels installed.  The time it has taken to get to this process has been minimal.  Everyone I've spoken with at Sunpro Solar has been friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, respectful, and accommodating.

Small jobs welcome

"He was great. He was able to put insulation into areas that 3 other companies stated they could not do because of the angles of our roof. We started out without insulation in the den area because it is a vaulted ceiling but he was able to work all the way down to the outside wall and put insulation into the difficult areas no one wanted to work on. I would highly recommend him to work on your home if you have difficult areas and need some relief"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

A DIY blown-in insulation project in a typical attic should take you no more than a week to complete. Experienced homeowners can blow an entire attic in one or two days.

When installing metal siding, a high-quality house wrap is considered the best protection against condensation and moisture infiltration. House wraps can increase a home's efficiency significantly. However, a house wrap is not a replacement for a vapor barrier because it can be permeable when moist air passes through siding. This is why it's essential to follow manufacturer instructions for insulating siding when installing new siding.

Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, but the actual temperature that can cause frozen pipes can vary. Generally, it takes 12 hours for pipes to freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Uninsulated pipes can freeze if it’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder for over three hours. If your pipes are insulated, it can take six hours or longer for pipes to freeze. Note that some pipe types freeze more often than PEX pipes. Copper pipes freeze more often because the copper conducts energy and loses heat quickly.

The most affordable way to insulate a garage involves choosing cost-effective materials like fiberglass, which comes in batts or rolls and is relatively easy to install. You can often install this type of insulation without needing to add drywall, which helps reduce costs. While a DIY approach might seem cheapest, hiring a professional installer can be highly cost-effective. Experts can accurately determine your garage's specific insulation needs and ensure the best results for your investment, often using batt insulation for the bulk of the project.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.
