"I used Angie's List to find a reference for a good painter in my area and came across Chris Gavin. The reviews were stellar and he had done some work in Collierville which is where we live. I was able to reach him on his cell phone immediately and we arranged a time for him to come out and give me an estimate. He arrived right on time for the appointment (rare with contractors/painters!) and was very professional. He gave me a written quote before leaving my home. The quote was based on doing 1 coat of paint in the majority of the downstairs as we were not changing the color and 2 coats in the master bedroom and bath where we chose a different color. He also estimated the job would take about a week.
He started the job on schedule and showed up promptly everyday and worked very diligently. I was in and out of the house while he was there and every time I showed up (not always announced) he was working hard and very focused. He informed me after the first day or two that he thought he needed to do 2 coats of paint instead of 1 but assured me there would be no extra charge. He was very meticulous and would look at the work at different angles in the sun to make sure the finish was up to his standards, which are very high. I am picky and didn't ever have to point anything out because he was just as picky (if not more)! He even ended up doing some patch work on some places where the wall had cracked from the house settling.
He did end up completing the work on schedule by working a few hours on Saturday. We paid him once the job was completed which I really liked as many painters ask for up to 50% up front. There is not 1 negative thing I would say about the job that Chris did. He was prompt, dependable, professional, thorough and always cleaned up after himself!"
