Great company to work with. Job was done in timely manner. Staff was very professional. Job site was kept immaculately clean. Delays were due to weather, and need to coordinate with pool and landscaping teams. Kevin, the team leader, communicated with me through out the job. Workmanship was excellent. Concrete looks great, and grading was done correctly. We have been through many downpours, without any accumulation of water.

The Baltz company had previously done an excellent job replacing my veranda's concrete floor, so when it was time to modernize my old broken driveway I called them in again. Mr Kevin Baltz and I agreed on the work and the price on 4 April, scheduled for execution in early May. On 21 May, after leaving a couple of v-mails I heard back from Mr Baltz, saying he hoped to start the following week weather permitting. In fairness, we've had a wet Spring so I can understand a certain amount of schedule slippage.
Two weeks later, I was leaving for a 9:30 appointment to find the demolition crew assessing my driveway. There had been no prior
notification, by email or voice message. After a necessarily brief discussion of what I wanted done (they weren't completely sure) I had to leave. When I returned several hours later the crew had already left. They took the concrete rubble, which was good, but left enough roots and broken-up wood to half-fill my garbage can. I called the Baltz number and left a message asking for confirmation of when the rest of the work will be done. No response.
The pour crew arrived, without notice, about noon three days later. The concrete was poured and got post-pour treatment, looks very good (1st photo), but the aluminum trim on either side of the door was crumpled (second photo), I suspect during the demolition phase. I pointed out the problem when the crew arrived the next day to remove the concrete forms. The crew boss said he'd notify Mr Baltz, and also mentioned that they'd use and quot;red sandand quot; to fill in the trench where the forms had been on either side of the new driveway.
A week later I called Mr Baltz to find out where things were. He'd been told of the crumpled trim, expects to make it right.
Yet a week later (we're up to 20 June by now) I called again. Mr Baltz said he had the demo team look at the damage yesterday, evaluating the possibility of just straightening the trim or replacing it.. I told him I'd be leaving town 5 days later. He said whatever they need to do they could take care of without opening the garage door. He expected to get back to me before I leave town.
On 9 July I left yet another v-mail. On 15 July Mr Baltz returned my call. He told me he'd talked with his demo crew, they're getting someone lined up to take care of it. He'll call back as soon as he gets a schedule from them.
As I write this it's 29 July, 7 weeks plus after the crew boss noted the damage, and I've heard nothing back despite more phone calls.
I like the concrete work, but the demo work and most especially the follow-up depart greatly from what I'd expected from this firm.

Update: On Friday 9 Aug, a siding contractor engaged and paid by Baltz (separate review) replaced the damaged material. It looks so much better now I'm going to have to get up on a ladder to clean up the garage's vinyl siding to match the elegant concrete and refreshed frame around the door.

Brad came and met with us, explained the process and presented our
estimate as promised. We didn't find this to be the case with other
contractors. The bid was a little lower than other companies and the
Angie's List rating and reviews were higher. There was a problem with
one of the sections we were not going to replace. The tractor or
concrete truck broke it. The company replaced it at no additional charge. (
Each section was approx. $1,000.00 due their size. I will definitely us them for the patio work I want done as well.

They were the cheapest. Their bid included things that others didn't in terms of drilling and other things. They did twice the work for half the estimate of anyone else.

Kevin Baltz met me at my house to discuss the extensions to my existing patio. I told him that since I would be selling the house within the year, I did not want this to be my "dream patio" and I really wanted keep the costs in check. He remained conscious of this, was very helpful and offered some design advice to make the additions more aesthetically pleasing without adding to the cost. I'm sure this was a very small job in comparison to the company's typical projects, but Kevin showed me the same consideration one might expect on much larger installations. It impressed me that he did not try to "sell" me on extras, special finishes, etc. When I purchase my next home in the coming months, I do plan to design my "dream patio" and now I am absolutely certain who will build it.
