"Mitch showed up on time for the estimate.  At first I just wanted exterior windows painted, 7 interior windows painted, and an upstairs bathroom.  In looking at the outside, Mitch recommended having the exterior painted as a whole.  He pointed out several areas that I hadn't noticed and suggested that since it had been 5 years since the house was painted, perhaps it was time to get the whole area repainted.  He provided me with a quote promptly the next day.  This was important to me since I had had several contractors no show or come out to provide an estimate only to never hear from them again.  I had additional questions which he quickly answered.  He said it would be about two weeks before he could start (given no weather delays) and that is when they started.
The first day was one gentleman and he pressure washed and started prepping the outside.  He was polite and let me know when he was coming and going such that if someone else showed up, I would know they weren't with CertaPro.  During the pressure wash, he even did a section of the back patio which needed a wash without being asked.  That was much appreciated.
The second day, 2 guys showed up to finish the prep and begin painting.  The one in charge was the brother of the gentleman from the first day.  He was very polite, courteous, and positive.  I appreciated that.
The third day was the finishing day.  Four guys showed up.  Three finished the outside while one worked the bathroom upstairs.  Eventually the others migrated into the inside to finish up the windows I needed painted.  A few things I did not anticipate that were appreciated and/or pleasant surprises.  The quote not only covered the outside trim, but also the front door, the garage doors (including hardware), and back door.  They asked what color I wanted the front door instead of just repainting it the same color.  Also, for the interior windows, they gently took a small piece of floor trim (which they replaced) to match the new paint to the old paint as close as possible.  Same with the upstairs bathroom to the rest of the upstairs color.  I appreciated this attention to detail.
Also, in going upstairs which was carpeted, they removed their shoes without me asking such as not to track dirt/mud through the carpet.  I greatly appreciated this as not all service folks have done this in the past.
The quote included the labor, washing, paint (Sherwin Williams), and caulk.  Not all painters include the paint and caulk.  Some of them make you buy the paint and caulk yourself.
My neighbor asked about our satisfaction and we absolutely recommended Mitch and his guys.  Very happy with the job performed.  Professional, polite, worked hard, and paid attention to details.  Unfortunately, not something you find a lot these days.

"When we decided to redo our kitchen in April of 2012, we knew what we wanted fixed, our budget and that's about it. We started talking to contractors, kitchen design centers and researching ideas. We quickly realized we were in WAY over our heads. A lot of places offer free design services if you buy all of your materials through them. We didn't want to be tied down. We didn't want a complete tear down to the studs, either. Homemade Design to the rescue! First of all the price was an absolute steal for the service provided. Amanda and co. Listened to what we wanted and came up with inovative,functional and beautiful solutions. Our house is old. We wanted to keep that 1920s feel, but still have a dishwasher, granite countertops and stainless appliances! Amanda had the brilliant idea of only replacing the bottom cabinets. She also gave me excellent instructions on how to refinish my existing cabinets so they look like new. This was a perfect solution for US. Homemade Design gave us ideas for layout, cabinets, lighting, wall paint, appliances, furniture, countertops, backsplash, faucets, sink,and cusions for built in. She would have recommended flooring if we wanted,but we didn't. Now, Amanda is more like a consultant...( I actually called her my kitchen remodel therapist). You still are ultimately responsible for the plan and what works for you. If your measurements are off (like mine were) that's on you. I was adament about no island and no microwave over the stove and so she didn't put those in the design. Some suggestions were not my style. And I said so. Honestly, if I picked out my own kitchen it would be so safe: white subway tile or something. Amanda gave me the guts to mix patterns and create something spectacular! It took almost a year to complete ( contractors fault) We did a lot of work ourselves. We bought the cabinets, backsplash tile, light fixtures, table and banquette cusions through Homemade Design at a great discount, we checked!! If you try shopping for any part of your kitchen, the volume of choices can be overwhelming. We loved having Amanda narrow it down for us. Communication was through email, mostly. She never took longer than three business days to respond to my million questions or concerns. Awesome. 5 months later, my kitchen is a dream come true. And I owe it all to Homemade Design!
