"We had them do 3 bathrooms. This was no small task as we removed part of one wall and removed a pass-through closet; however, in one week they were able to install 2 bathtubs and tub to ceiling wall system, a shower and floor to ceiling wall system, plus all the ceiling and wall drywall fixes necessary. The materials come from the great state of Texas and feel solid. There is a franchise in South Dakota now, which made the process so easy. The sub-contractor was very detailed oriented and a perfectionist, what every homeowner needs for a bathroom area, where water can cause some expensive issues. The local salesperson/co-owner is intimately involved in the whole process. At this point the project has been done for 2 days and we are very happy. Additional updates may be made as time goes."

Customers say: Quality work

"The issues I ended up having were very complex and I had a rather large scale situation to deal with that was the result of an accidental sewer line sever from another property having work done on their home. SD lining solutions was able to work with me to tell me what I would need done to restore plumbing function to my home. They showed up on time for all the additional appointments I had to make to discuss details with all other parties. I don t know what I would have done without Ben! Most honest hard working guy I have ever met! I even decided to add an additional job for him that he could do for me since he does more than just scoping and locating lines and I found it is a very versatile business he owns after speaking to him and since he would be digging on my property already to fix my problem, I figured I would get this done now too as an after thought with what I had to deal with and only have to have my yard dug up once that way. He worked it out in a way that would allow him to fit part of the job in now that involved the digging and finish it in a couple of weeks because it wasn t an urgent one that I decided to add on."

"I hired Neli over a week period for 3 different appliances, my dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and even kitchen sink! I had a fantastic experience: 1. I fixed my dryer with Thomas' excellent remote guidance, changing the timer and the switch! Fabulous guidance Thomas, with lots of money saved! I learned a lot in the process. 2. I determined that there was no dishwasher leak and in the process learned how to check for leaks and trouble shoot for some common repair issues. It cost $40.00 but as I had some water on the floor, I was ready to get a new dishwasher. Now, I am confident that it wasn't a leak and caused by putting in the dishes in a funny manner and not a repair issue. I am using the dishwasher now again with no problem. 3. I determined with Thomas' help that the washing machine had a major problem and could have spun out of control into my wall....no question, it was time to get a new washing machine! This was a well spent $40.00--I even got Thomas advice on purchasing a new washing machine and what to look for. 4. I checked the drainage on my kitchen sink and learned how to empty out the "trap" and that most likely, I am okay, but what to swap out if I have continuing issues with slow drainage. In the end, I saved lots of money, gaining and learning valuable experience! Absolutely fabulous service!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can water plants with water softened with potassium chloride. Potassium is a vital nutrient for plants, so using this type of water is harmless and can even be enriching. It is often a better option than water softened with sodium chloride, as too much sodium can build up in the soil and make it difficult for plants to absorb the water they need. If you notice that your plants are not tolerating the treated water, try letting it sit in a watering can for one to five days to allow the chlorine to diminish.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.

You’ll need two sizes of pipe to plumb a bathroom. You’ll use a 1/2-inch pressure pipe for your supply lines that run from the fixture to the larger 3/4-inch supply lines that run through the house. For drain lines, you’ll need a 3-inch PVC pipe for your toilet, a 2-inch PVC pipe for stand-alone showers, and a 1 1/2-inch pipe for a shower/tub combo and the bathroom sink. Each fixture’s drain will run to the 3-inch main drain that runs through the house.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.

There are several methods to temporarily or permanently fix a burst pipe. In a pinch, you can seal up a small leak with either silicon pipe tape or epoxy specifically designed for this purpose. You can also purchase a pipe repair kit that supplies a clamp and gasket to seal the pipe. In the long term, a plumber will either remove the damaged area of the pipe and add a replacement coupling or replace the entire length of the pipe between joints.
