"Home Genius Exteriors was excellent, and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. They responded quickly to any of my questions and concerns, and all of their people, from estimators and project managers to the roofing crew themselves, were knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and professional. "Price was about average, can't complain - don't remember exactly how much or exact service date (disclaimer).  Company screwed up the scheduling.  Installer was busy with personal life and we had to work around their schedule.  Inconvenient.  Came out and sprayed insulation in the garage.  They left the door open to the basement so the entire chemical smell inundated the basement.  The spray was general even but there seemed to be small holes and spaces generally through out the insulation.  When I inquired about the small spaces the response was they generally use the small spray cans you can get at Home Depot\Lowes but that they didn't have any.  I said I would take care of it myself, I had enough inconvenience with the screw up in scheduling.  Other than that went well - it's not that involved, just spray foam.
They did clean up the mess relatively well, but not perfect."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

The cost to install or upgrade insulation generally ranges from $1.50 to $4.00 per square foot. The final price depends on factors such as the type of insulation chosen, the total area to be covered (home size), and local labor costs.

The cost of installing spray foam insulation is $2,760 on average, but this cost can be as low as $650 or as high as $7,700. The main cost factor is the size of the insulated area and the type of spray foam insulation.

Polyurethane spray foam costs between $0.44 and $1.50 per board foot, where a board foot is equal to the volume of a one-foot length of a board. More expensive options, like soybean or vegetable oil spray foam, range from $1.50 to $3.00 per board foot.

Yes, you can install insulation behind drywall yourself, but only if your walls are not finished. If your studs are exposed, installing fiberglass insulation in roll or batt form is very straightforward and just requires a few tools and some safety equipment. If your walls are already finished and you’re looking to add insulation, it’s better to hire a professional, as you’ll likely need blown-in insulation, which can be dangerous to work with and a challenge to get into the proper areas in your wall voids.

Bathroom wall insulation not only keeps the area temperate, but it also reduces instances of mold, mildew, and rot. Bathrooms, after all, are havens for moisture. With this in mind, it’s absolutely worth it to insulate bathroom walls since it saves money in the long run. You won’t have to hire a pricey mold remediation service down the line. Also, insulation decreases outdoor noise and lowers energy costs.

Yes, covering exposed wires is necessary for several important reasons. Exposed electrical wires pose significant risks, such as electrical shocks, fires, short circuits, and potential damage to your home’s electrical system. By properly insulating and protecting the wires, you can minimize the potential for accidents, prevent electrical fires, and ensure your electrical system stays intact.
