"We wanted a detached garage. We liked Vicars Construction reviews and hired them. Their workers were very professional & easy to work with. They built us a beautiful garage and we are really enjoying it. We would recommend them to anyone planning a building project. If in the future we have other building projects we will certainly call on them."

"After trees fell on my house, I hired Bradley Construction to replace shingles on my roof, replace/repair gutters, and downspouts, and replace window screens. The project manager stayed on top of all the projects to make sure they were done properly and completed on schedule."

"My husband called this company by mistake.  He thought he was calling the company that repaired our other garage door last year.  However, they responded very quickly and came when they said they would and seem to have done a good job.  They quoted a service charge which we thought would be incorporated into the repair cost but it was added on top.  Our only complaint with this company is the cost, which seemed excessive.  The company we used for the other door (same problem) charged about half what this company charged us.
My statement that I would not use them again is based on the cost not the quality of work.

Garages questions, answered by experts

New garage doors are often worth the investment because they improve the appearance of your home, make it more secure, and add to your property value. Installing a new garage door costs $1,200 on average, but you’ll have greater peace of mind that your garage door will function properly and keep your home safe. If you sell your home shortly after replacing your garage door, you’re expected to see close to a 100% return on investment, which is significantly higher than most home improvement projects and almost instantly makes the project worthwhile.

The most common garage door material is aluminum, but the best material for you depends on your budget and location. Wood is the most expensive to repair but tends to add the most curb appeal, while fiberglass or composite doors cost less to fix.

Aluminum won’t rust, so it’s a great option if you live somewhere humid or rainy. Steel doors are durable but are prone to rust. If you live somewhere with extreme temperatures, hot or cold, you might opt for fiberglass, which won’t split if the temperatures skyrocket or drop below freezing.

Without a doubt, insulating a garage door is a surefire way to make your home more energy efficient. Not only does insulating your garage door reduce your electric bills, but it also helps protect your valuables inside your garage, all while making for a quieter interior space.

In regions that drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, your car's battery is at risk of malfunctioning in a garage that drops dangerously low. So, homeowners who reside in extremely cold climates can especially benefit from insulating their garages.

The lifespan of garage door springs depends on the type and quality of the springs, the physical environment, and the level of use. In general, properly installed and maintained springs open and close a garage door around 10,000 times . That equates to around seven years if you open and close the door about four times a day. If you use your garage door more frequently, live in a very cold or humid environment that promotes corrosion or rust, or have a very heavy door, your springs may wear out faster and require replacing sooner.

It’s not safe to install a pet door on your garage door. Garage doors that tilt upward can roll up with your dog inside the door without you realizing it, making them dangerous and potentially deadly. Most dog doors also won’t fit on traditional garage doors, as they would need to span the panels, compromising the door’s stability.
