Carolina Energy Conservation, LLC
Carolina Energy Conservation, LLC
Carolina Energy Conservation is a local family owned and operated company. The company was founded under the principle to provide the residents of the Grand Strand community (and beyond) with a reliable and trustworthy company aimed at helping to reduce energy consumption as well as reducing the community’s utility bills. With our office located directly in the myrtle beach area we have been a leader in the energy improvement market since our inception in 2009.
"After a year and a half with my crawlspace encapsulation everything is going good! I was very nit-picky about many details and everyone I dealt with was courteous, professional and communicative, had 1 little issue that was immediately resolved and the techs that got it completed did a great job. I was very pleased with the way they set up a barrier around my pool to prevent any debris from getting into it too"

Attics Are Us
Attics Are Us
Our main goal is to save people money on their energy bills. If your home is 20 years old, odds are that's it's under insulated. Any money spent on upgrading the insulation in your attic is money well spent. In most cases the dollars that you spend will be recovered in 3 years or less through lower heating & cooling bills. In most older homes there are 3 things that we concentrate on. 1. The amount of insulation in the attic as well as the R-value of it. 2. Leaks in the HVAC system if it's in the attic. 3. Air leaks at the access to the attic, properly dealing with any recessed light that may not be IC ( insulation contact ) rated & around the chimney penetrations that may be in the home. Controlling air leakage can be costly at times but, moving air destroys the R-value which increase energy bills. We can also help the home owner with some of the storage problems they may have by building light shelving to get their stored items up off the attic floor so that more of the attic can be properly insulated. The second most important item we install next to Owens Corning's fiberglas L77 is the Attic Tent. Please check out the link on the home page. We are a father & son team. One or both of us will be at your job. Over 20 years of experience. Additional contact: Steve Slaughter
"Work was great. This was my second time using them. Always prompt and courteous."

"I complained twice and they had to come back out twice because they didn't apply the insulation as thick as I paid for. I assume because they were angry about coming back out they covered up two of my vents so I can't attach the pipes to them. I can't even find the ends. I will need to dig the expensive foam out to find them."

"This is THE worst company to ever use! They lie, rip you off and never call or communicate! This has been an ongoing problem from the initial install when the compressor blew up. They had to come back the next day with a new compressor to finish installation!! We’ve had problems ever since and this has been going on for 11 years. (We have a 12 year parts and labor warranty with a $49 deductible and we’ve paid this deductible so many times). Our compressor has gone out again, this is the forth time in 11 years!!!!! Tech brought out a portable air conditioner on Wednesday only to have it leak water on our living floor, rug and pad! He came back to pick it up and said the water plug was missing! Gee whose fault is that???? Was told we’d get a different one next morning on Thursday! Heard nothing on Thursday and nothing so far today, Friday! I’m sure we won’t hear a word! We’ve had parts put in backwards, txv’s (thermal expansion valve) replaced so many times, I lost count! Never ever use this terrible, inexperienced, sad excuse for a company!!"

FAQs for insulation service projects in Pinewood, SC
When choosing a professional insulation installer, consider asking these questions to determine the best fit.
Will you address air leaks in my house?
Can you provide an R-value (heat resistance) fact sheet?
What kind of insulation will work best for my home?
How do you handle signs of a water leak?
Are you licensed and insured?
Can you provide customer references?
The best type of insulation for your home depends on what you need, so the answer will depend on your specific situation. If you’re building a house, structural panels are easy to install during the building process in addition to being the most energy efficient type. If you live in a warm climate, reflective insulation may benefit you more as it costs less than other insulation types. And for standard attics, loose-fill, spray foam, or blown-in insulation work well.
If you plan to heat or cool your garage, you’ll need to insulate the garage ceiling. Insulating your garage ceiling will make your garage much more energy efficient and save on heating and cooling costs. Not only does insulation make your garage more energy efficient, it helps reduce noise and can extend the life of your garage roof. You can use fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation for this project.
In some cases, you may not have enough insulation to properly regulate your home’s temperature. Watch for a few signs your home needs more insulation, such as:
High heating and cooling bills
Uncomfortable room temperatures
Ice dams on the edge of your roof
Roof leaks
Cold floors and walls
Freezing pipes
Temperature fluctuations
Visibly low insulation
Noise problems
Pest problems
On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, ranging from $1,500 to $3,500, depending on the insulation type, amount, and your attic’s accessibility. Additional cost factors include sealing air leaks, removal or replacement of insulation, and inspections. Types of insulation include:
Blown-in: $1–$4 per square foot
Spray foam: $2–$5 per square foot
Batt: $2–$4 per square foot
Structural insulated panels: $4–$7 per square foot
Loose-fill: $2–$5 per square foot
Reflective: $0.50–$1.50 per square foot
