Carolina Energy Conservation is a local family owned and operated company. The company was founded under the principle to provide the residents of the Grand Strand community (and beyond) with a reliable and trustworthy company aimed at helping to reduce energy consumption as well as reducing the community’s utility bills. With our office located directly in the myrtle beach area we have been a leader in the energy improvement market since our inception in 2009.

The team was very responsive, kept us informed of the process and expected timeframe and exceeded our expectation on the speed of the process. Once the workers were on site they made sure to keep the area clean when they left each day and seemed to work efficiently.

They were very professional and worked over the weekend to meet my deadline. The installers were very diligent in making sure all areas in my Crawl Space was covered. They cleaned up all leftovers. Great Job.

First crew sent was not very experienced but after rescheduling second crew was very good they were very informative about the work they were doing and made sure we were happy with the job before leaving. Great job!

The kids came and didn't make a mess and explained all that they were going to do and how they're going to do it and when. NO MESS!! I don't think they even made any mess but if they did they cleaned it up lickety-split.

I called Carolina Energy Conservation to have some new insulation put in my attic. The estimater came out within a few days of the phone call, and I received a detailed e-mail about what to expect. Matt gave me a good run down of what I needed to make my upstairs floor more comfortable. He called ahead of time, was on time, and was very professional. The estimate was for 4,000 board ft of insulation, 800 sq ft of radiant barrier installed, and an attic tent/hatch. Total cost was about $1600. They asked for a down payment of 30% up front, which I paid. Matt told me I would recieve a call to schedule the work within 1-2 business days. That never happened. After 1 week I called and spoke with Mary, who informed me their office manager who does schedules was out sick the previous week. She assured me he would call me back to setup a time for the work to be done. That never happened either. Fast forward another week. I called a 2nd time, and finally got an apointment setup for the following week. The two guys they sent to do the job were friendly and professional. After a few hours they let me inspect the work, and it was completed to my satisfaction. I normally have to set my AC to 73-74 in the summer to keep my upstairs comfortable, and the HVAC turns on quite often. Now I can set it to 76-77 and it remains comfortable, and the HVAC doesn't run as often. All in all I am happy with the overall experience, guess they just got hung up on scheduling.

The test itself went great. Recommendation for radiant barrier was $3200. This might be a good price but way too much for me, there is no way this would ever pay back in saving within 8 years, the standard energy payback time period.

Some major miscommunications existed at first. Company reps..(appointment scheduler & service tech) were not aware of Angies List "Deal" and I had to reschedule after the first service tech arrived unprepared to perform the full audit. The second visit was performed satisfactorily. I was a little disappointed by the cursory infrared scan that didn't impress me nor provide me with any substantial results. At the end of the audit I did receive a printout of various options that could be accomplished to increase our comfort & reduce our energy use. (the "standard options": radiant attic barrier and/or seal the crawlspace) All options were priced higher than similar quotes by other companies. I probably won't use this company for the work...But it was good to get their views of problem areas of my house.

Excellent ! The Salesperson, Jason, was very thorough. He took the time to explain his analysis, his conclusions and the "why" behind his recommendations. The Tech Team of Ryan, Nico & David were knowledgeable, professional and personable. They arrived on time, did what they had to do to stay on the project timeline and were sensitive to our schedule during the course of the 4-day project. They were very responsive to questions. Their workmanship is excellent.

From start to finish working with the guys at Carolina Energy Conservation was a pleasure. Jimmy stopped by first to check that we had adequate insulation and weren't losing energy through leaky doors and windows. Then Jimmy and Tom stopped by to design the system we needed. We were lucky enough to get a quick install date and a week before install Ricardo stopped by to check the layout and ensure the integrity of the roof. Install day arrived and Ricardo, Tim and Eddie showed up on time and ready to install. Over the next four days they installed the panels (with the help of Nick and George) and all associated wiring on the roof, in the attic and in the garage. This was in 90 degree weather and I was glad I didn't have to do it. Each day when they left everything was cleaned up and you couldn't tell they had been there except for the work that was performed. They did an extremely clean install from the roof to the garage with no exposed wiring or cuts in the walls. Finally on Day five the electric company came and switched the meter the inspector came and approved everything and we were up and running. The system has been operating flawlessly since and I can't wait for my first electric bill or should I say lack there of. After the first week of operation in 90 degree weather we have produced slightly more energy than we have used. I'm very happy I decided on Solar. I believe I'll save some money, keep a little carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and maybe save a little of the earth's resources for my grandchildren. I'm also very happy I chose Carolina Energy Conservation to do the work, they were professional, on time and a pleasure to deal with.
