"We used Spinner Construction to expand our back deck, and also build a covered, screened front porch. They did an exceptional job on both projects. Tyler and his crew are professional and very courteous. Tyler came by daily to check on progress and kept us informed on what was going on. I would highly recommend them for your project."

"Great work! We were very happy with the Anthony John crew, especially Frank the foreman. They knew their stuff and got the whole roof done in a day. I was very impressed with their expertise and agility on this 10/12 pitch roof. They worked from ropes and didn't need toeboards and that was a good selling point for me. In short, they did exactly what they said they would do in the time they said they could do it. I do not hesitate to recommend this company."

"After completion of our bathroom remodel, we now literally give tours to our friends and neighbors. It's spacious and much safer with the ADA layout and new shower concept. Everybody finds the bright new look to be an investment and an enhancement. It adds value but is safer and that's most important. I next plan for my deck to be torn down and rebuilt and will again use Palmetto Renovations only. I have projects and they have expertise."

"We had a few days delay due to the weather but once the process started everything went great. They cleaned up everything and it was a pleasure coming home to a new roof with no mess. I would highly recommend their work to anyone. Thank you Lakeside Construction."

"We are very happy with the work done by Carolina Professional Painters. We just moved in to a gigantic (4,000 sq. ft, 1,000 sq.ft wrap around porch, partially screened) old house (103 yrs old) that needed painting and replacement of rotten wood. It had been neglected for a long time and it was a very big job. Gonzalo responded very quickly with an estimate and put us on his schedule promptly. He and his family members came to the house early every morning and worked late each day. I think it turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated, but they stayed with the initial quote and put in extra hours on the weekends to finish the job within the stated time frame. Gonzalo was very responsive to all questions and concerns, e.g. we expressed concern over the large amount of paint chips left on the ground, since we have young children and the paint most likely had some lead paint given the age of the house. Gonzalo and his crew cleaned up the paint chips as much as possible and then spread topsoil over the remaining chips. Also, after the paint job had been finished we noticed that some of the paint on the porch ceiling did not exactly match the rest of the paint. Gonzalo had his Sherwin Williams rep. come and verify the mismatch, then they repainted those areas to match the rest of the ceiling. Overall, they did a very good job, worked very hard, and we would recommend their services. My only disappointment was that Gonzalo never got back to me with a quote for doing some interior painting, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were sick of our house by that point!

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.

Clean regularly, seal wood surfaces, and inspect for damage or rust to ensure longevity and safety.

For many people, a gazebo is worth it, but it’s a matter of personal preference. If you love spending time outside but your yard doesn’t offer much protection from the sun or rain, then adding a gazebo might be worthwhile. Or, if you enjoy hosting dinner parties and want a nice outdoor space to gather with your friends, a gazebo could be a good investment.

The main purpose of a gazebo is to provide a covered space for people to gather comfortably. They’re an excellent place for summertime get-togethers because the roof protects you and your guests from the sun. However, gazebos can also serve as a design feature, adding a bit of charm to a backyard or garden.

Yes, many gazebos are permanent structures built onto the land. However, if you have a portable gazebo that isn’t secured to the ground, you’ll want to check the manufacturer’s instructions to understand when to put it away. Generally speaking, when it’s particularly windy or wet outside, you should take down your temporary gazebo.
