"We were buying a 1940 home and decided to have the oak floors refinished before we moved in. I contacted several companies and Chris from Columbia Flooring was the first to call me back. He sounded very professional and knowledgeable. I had read about a process where you just lightly sand/add a coat of poly, without doing the full refinishing job. Chris met me at the house to see the floors and provide an estimate. By then, I had gotten two other quotes for this quick sand/add poly process without either of those companies coming to look at the floors. Chris talked to me about the cleaning materials that have been used on the floors, which I had no info on. So, doing the quick sand/poly could be a disaster. We decided to have him completely refinish them. After listening to us, he helped us pick Golden Oak as our stain after leaving us a few options.
