The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. If your bathroom sees a lot of use or you’re concerned about the toilet clogging, then a power-flush toilet may be the right choice. If your bathtub won’t drain, it’s usually due to a clog. You can try to remove any visible debris by hand. For debris stuck in the trap below the drain, a drain snake is your best bet. Keep in mind that chemical drain cleaners can be very effective for hair clogs, but they’re corrosive and can damage your pipes. Use with caution. 

On average, a plumber will take 30 minutes to two hours to clear a clogged drain. If the clog is located close to the drain or an access point and isn’t severe, the project will take about half an hour. If the clog is deep within your plumbing system or is a severe blockage, it can take two or more hours to remove the clog.
