"It went fantastic. My wife had gone to the hospital for a total left hip replacement. After the operation the surgeon told me there had been some complications and told me I would need hand rails in my garage from the garage floor up 4 steps to the kitchen hallway for her to get in the house after his release of her from the hospital. I did not have hand rails on those steps or the front porch steps either. He told me they would be required because of the serious nature of her conditon. This was her second operation in three and 1/2 weeks. I googled fence contractors in lexington, sc with and 5 fence companies came up. Hendrix Fence company was the first one with a phone number. This was on a Wed and I needed the rails up in 48 hours. I knew it was a very short time frame and went ahead and called Hendrix Fence Co. A very compashinate lady named Jennie Hendrix answered the phone and I told her of my plight and asked if her company could please do me this favor on the short notice. She said she would have her son call me shortly. Her son did call me within 20 minutes from the time I talked to his mother Jennie, said he was close by and would come by within the hour. He did come by and said he could do the job on Friday morning two days later. He had to fabricate and weld some pieces in his shop on Thursday and would be at my house to install the railings Friday at 9:30 am with his brother. They showed up on time Friday and did the install which was stellar in about 2 hours. It was cold and rainy those two days but they did not complain, had excellent attitudes and gave me exactly what I needed for my wife to come to come home that same day by ambulance. After my initial contact Mrs. Jennie Hendrix, Her husband Mr. David Hendrix , Sr. called me to make sure his son had contacted me and said the job would be done right and on time in 48 hours. I have dealt with all kind of contractors all my life but have never, ever dealt with a company like Hendrix Fence Co. in Gaston, SC that serves the Lexington, SC area. I had talked with 5 other companies about my immediate needs for my wife and the all said they could not even come look at the job until January 2, 2019. Waiting till then was "not an option" and Jennie Hendrix said she understood my short term needs and would help me immediately. Hendrix Fence Co., the owners Jennie and David Hendrix and their two sons who did the installation within 48 hours of call for help were the greatest, and most caring people who understood my immediate needs and were willing to go the extra mile on 2 days notice to help me out. They are a family operation who have been in business 30 years and know how to treat a customer right. I cannot say how much their concern and follow-up have helped me and my wife. We are both 76 years old and it's great to know that there some people and companies that still care about their customers and reputation. I would rate them 10+ stars if I could. I recommend them highly to anyone who needs even a small job like mine or any kind of fencing or structures of any type put on there property. I cannot thank them enough. E. Fencing questions, answered by experts

After finishing a fencing project in Newberry, inspect your fence within the first month for settling or shifting, and document its condition with photos for insurance purposes. Notify neighbors if boundaries were adjusted. Restore any disturbed landscaping promptly. Given Newberry’s humid climate, clean your fence twice a year to prevent mildew, and for wood fences, apply stain or sealant annually to maintain durability.

Helpful?

Consider scheduling fencing projects in Newberry if you notice increased wildlife entering your yard, new construction nearby reducing your privacy, or visible storm damage from wind or ice. If pets or children are at risk of wandering, or property line disputes arise, it’s time to act. The best installation period is late fall through early spring, when humidity is lower and work conditions are optimal.

Helpful?

Before starting fencing projects in Newberry, review local permit and setback requirements and obtain any needed neighborhood approvals. Arrange for underground utilities to be marked before digging, and have your property lines professionally surveyed. Assess soil and drainage, as Newberry’s terrain can vary. Choose a reputable local contractor, plan around seasonal weather, and inform neighbors about your schedule to ensure a smooth project.

Helpful?

Completing fencing projects in Newberry offers immediate benefits like enhanced privacy, security, and safer spaces for children and pets—especially valuable in both rural and suburban neighborhoods. Over time, a well-built fence can boost property value, reduce yard maintenance by deterring local wildlife, and withstand Newberry’s humid summers and occasional winter storms, providing long-lasting protection and curb appeal for your home.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Newberry should prioritize backyard privacy fencing to enjoy outdoor living and shield their property from view. Installing pool fencing is crucial if your pool is over 24 inches deep for safety and compliance. Marking front yard boundaries clarifies property lines, while garden fencing helps keep out deer. Driveway gates add an extra layer of security, especially in semi-rural areas.
