"We met Chris quite by accident, but he turned out to be the right person for the job. His prices were affordable and the quality is exactly what I expected. The job was done timely and I would definitely recommend Chris and his crew again. Don't we all need fence work?"

"What a great experience. Mr. Sizemore texted me before he arrived, showed up on time, gave me an estimate, far better than previous estimates I had gotten, and even said he had the materials to do the repair job right then. He went to work, replaced 15 boards on my fence, cleaned up and was finished in about 20 minutes. I was completely amazed. My neighbors saw him working, and both immediately asked him to do some work for them as well. He was very friendly and took multiple forms of payment, so that made that part easy. I would definitely recommend him and would hire him again. Five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"It went fantastic. My wife had gone to the hospital for a total left hip replacement. After the operation the surgeon told me there had been some complications and told me I would need hand rails in my garage from the garage floor up 4 steps to the kitchen hallway for her to get in the house after his release of her from the hospital. I did not have hand rails on those steps or the front porch steps either. He told me they would be required because of the serious nature of her conditon. This was her second operation in three and 1/2 weeks. I googled fence contractors in lexington, sc with and 5 fence companies came up. Hendrix Fence company was the first one with a phone number. This was on a Wed and I needed the rails up in 48 hours. I knew it was a very short time frame and went ahead and called Hendrix Fence Co. A very compashinate lady named Jennie Hendrix answered the phone and I told her of my plight and asked if her company could please do me this favor on the short notice. She said she would have her son call me shortly. Her son did call me within 20 minutes from the time I talked to his mother Jennie, said he was close by and would come by within the hour. He did come by and said he could do the job on Friday morning two days later. He had to fabricate and weld some pieces in his shop on Thursday and would be at my house to install the railings Friday at 9:30 am with his brother. They showed up on time Friday and did the install which was stellar in about 2 hours. It was cold and rainy those two days but they did not complain, had excellent attitudes and gave me exactly what I needed for my wife to come to come home that same day by ambulance. After my initial contact Mrs. Jennie Hendrix, Her husband Mr. David Hendrix , Sr. called me to make sure his son had contacted me and said the job would be done right and on time in 48 hours. I have dealt with all kind of contractors all my life but have never, ever dealt with a company like Hendrix Fence Co. in Gaston, SC that serves the Lexington, SC area. I had talked with 5 other companies about my immediate needs for my wife and the all said they could not even come look at the job until January 2, 2019. Waiting till then was "not an option" and Jennie Hendrix said she understood my short term needs and would help me immediately. Hendrix Fence Co., the owners Jennie and David Hendrix and their two sons who did the installation within 48 hours of call for help were the greatest, and most caring people who understood my immediate needs and were willing to go the extra mile on 2 days notice to help me out. They are a family operation who have been in business 30 years and know how to treat a customer right. I cannot say how much their concern and follow-up have helped me and my wife. We are both 76 years old and it's great to know that there some people and companies that still care about their customers and reputation. I would rate them 10+ stars if I could. I recommend them highly to anyone who needs even a small job like mine or any kind of fencing or structures of any type put on there property. I cannot thank them enough. E. "The owner & helper arrived a little after the scheduled appointment time on both work days. They were the lowest price of the quotes. they quickly removed old & installed new fencing. They could have cleaned up more giblets of concrete around posts."

"Went like clockwork. Great company, fast service, professional workers. They went over and above to make this client happy. They cleaned up so I never would have known they were there, except that the tree was gone. Spencer and Lauren, and their crew, are the best. Would recommend them any day of the week and twice on Sunday!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Yes, fence posts need to be installed below the frost line to ensure stability and prevent heaving caused by freezing and thawing cycles. The frost line is the depth at which soil freezes during winter. By placing posts below this line, often around 3 to 4 feet deep or as recommended for your specific region, you reduce the risk of the ground shifting, which can lead to leaning or unstable fences. Adequate depth provides better anchoring and helps maintain the fence's integrity, ensuring it remains secure and upright throughout changing seasons.

Removing fence posts that are set in concrete is something you can't do by hand. You will need an excavator, a strong post-puller, or a jackhammer. If you plan on recycling the concrete base, you may be able to cut the post out with a jackhammer and then set the new post in the existing base. However, it's usually better to remove both the fence post and concrete together. Due to the weight of concrete, you will need a hydraulic removal tool.

While cedar and pine are two of the most common wooden fence materials, everything from redwood to bamboo is also available. You can also purchase pressure-treated wood, which better withstands water damage and the threat of pests. The best wood for your fence will come down to your budget, local climate, and preferred look.

There are several privacy fence ideas, including DIY temporary fence ideas. You can try using pallets, which is a great way to add privacy and recycle materials. You can use a traditional square or lattice trellis as a temporary privacy fence, which provides seclusion and allows you to add flowers and climbing vines for a living design element.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly fence material, corrugated metal could be the answer. Metal fences cost about $7 to $32 per foot. Aluminum corrugated metal tends to be less expensive than steel. Both options are similar in cost to wood, so, depending on the type of wood you are considering, corrugated metal could be better for your budget.
