Can’t recommend Evangeline Construction more highly. Performed several renovations of sunroom and frog. But my favorite is my 10x10 pantry room with copied antique door built by Danny Campas. It is beyond beautiful. Danny got my opinion, ideas and approvals all along the way. Vanessa kept all trades on point. And the nicest people you would ever have the pleasure to work with

He was kind of rude, he installed the cabinet. I told him what type we wanted. He said we did not need custom cabinet. He just installed regular kitchen cabinets, not what we really wanted. He was a day late. He even told me the cost would double for what I wanted but he already installed it. He repeatedly told us because we were having a kid he said we would not live here for long

We were absolutely totally satisfied with the work they did. They were very attentive to our needs and made any changes needed throughout the remodel. Care was taken to keep the work area clean before leaving each day. I really like that they made my job a priority and wasn’t working another job while completing mine. My wife and I loves the finished product. Most of all they were a pleasure to work with, very personable. I/we would highly recommend Evangeline Construction to anyone needing their services

I have built 4 homes in my life times, all with different General Contractors, including myself. Although this was a not a complete home construction project, I was thrilled with how Evangeline Construction handled my project. For those that have managed these types of projects before, half of the issue is generally getting subs to show up on time. This was not an issue with Evangeline. They did their work on time everyday, and ensured that everyone else was getting what they needed done too. The work looked great after it was over! I am planning more remodeling within the next two years. Evangeline is who I will be calling

Everyone was polite, quiet and worked hard the entire time they were here. I'm a retired engineer who spent 20+ years as a project manager for large construction projects. I had a hard time finding anyone who would even give me a price on this little project. When I called Mike, he set up an appointment, showed up with the tradesmen he needed on time to look at my kitchen/talk over what we wanted, emailed the estimate to me a couple of days later, started on time, emailed revised estimates every time (there were two) that I asked for a change and gave me fair prices on those changes. Except for the changes I requested, there were no changes to the price or project from what we discussed at the first meeting. In my experience that is unusual, especially for a renovation project. Mike did a great job of calling me to tell me what to expect to be done the next day, who would be showing up and when so that I didn't have to sit here just waiting. Including all the big projects over the years, this is the smoothest construction job I ever had. We love the new kitchen and highly recommend Commonwealth Construction. As far as scheduling, to be honest the job took one day longer than their initial estimate of two weeks. To be fair, however, I must say we had the wettest February on record, which hindered some of the work like their ability to bring things into the house and the rate at which the paint dried. There was only one day during which nothing happened and it poured rain that entire day, which happened to be the day they were bringing in the sheetrock and constructing the wall. The part of the project that impressed my friends the most was that at the end of every task or day if they weren't finished, the workers thoroughly cleaned the area. There was never any mess in my home. The sheetrock worker may be the big winner in all that. He managed to sand the new wall and all the touch up spots without getting dust all over the house. I have truly never seen a neater sheetrock sander

We had massive water damage underneath our house, due to poorly-installed HVAC ducts that had been sweating against our subfloors for several years. Insurance was a largely a no-go, since it was condensation related, so budget was a big factor. Still, I was insistent that the job be done right. I bid the job out to about five or six companies and selected Commonwealth for a couple of reasons. First, Mike's recommendations included no short cuts. He did not suggest that we could lower costs by making compromises here or there -- he said, to do it right, here's what we have to do. Second, he was scrupulously honest. When we were talking about possible insurance claims, he made it clear that he would not misrepresent the extent or cause of the damage in order to get a larger claim. This was critically important to me; anyone willing to cheat an insurance company wouldn't think twice about cheating me. Basically, we went down to dirt in parts of the house and had to rebuild from the ground up. The biggest part of the job was in the kitchen, which had to be completely demolished and rebuilt. When Mike's original kitchen guy came in to high, he found another one that was able to work within our budget and did beautiful work. We took advantage of the opportunity to knock a wall out of our galley kitchen and replace it with a really big granite peninsula. It completely changed the entire space. I wish I'd done it years ago. All of his subs were fantastic. We stayed in the house during the entirety of the project, which was probably 3.5 months (not sure I'd do that again), and they all left the site very clean every day, even sealing up the holes in the subfloor with plywood. The only sub I was not 100 percent happy with was his floor guys, who I think finished the floors in sections rather than all at once, but Mike sent them back and insisted that they would keep coming back until I was satisfied. The job took a good bit longer than we originally projected, but this job seemed to grow as we went along. At one point, we discovered a roof leak that we decided meant a new roof, which Mike was able to do at a rate that was right in line with others to whom I'd bid the job. Bottom line, Commonwealth did a super job. Honest, good work ethic, no shortcuts, high quality -- the job will be done right, at a competitive rate. We were very satisfied. For the first time in a long time, I can sleep at night knowing that our home is on good solid ground. I'd use them again in a heartbeat

We could not be happier with the results of our project. Mike was as responsive and professional as he could be. He called on a regular basis to update me on the progress and was available to meet with me at any time, including nights and weekends. He provided great advice along the way and his recommendations to vault the ceiling and install new gutters were great decisions. The project moved very smoothly and was finished in the timeframe he estimated beforehand. Even after completion, Mike remains available to address any questions or tie up any loose ends. Mike gave me a completely new opinion of contractors and I wouldn't hesitate to use Commonwealth Contracting again

Guys were very good to work with and we were very pleased with the cabinetry they built for our bathroom. We had some problems with the tile grout, but they came out promplty twice to make it right. I wish my paint job matched the level of work they did on my bathroom.

We had a very good experience with Mike Eippert and the subcontractors who did the work. We met with Mike several times to discuss the job, and he was helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. He and his team were willing to make adjustments and good at dealing with unexpected issues, like a very sticky plastic flooring material that unexpectedly showed up under the carpeting in one of the bedrooms -- they patiently dug it up and proceeded with the hardwood refinishing. Helped with moving furniture, etc. Everyone involved did a good job and was very professional. We did end up spending more than we planned to, but at every step Mike was up-front and specific about costs. I would definitely recommend this company

"We started the remodel of our Kitchen and Bath in November... right in the beginning of holiday season. It was a tight timeline, and daunting to know that we'd be hosting Christmas for family in only 6 weeks. Vanessa assured us that it would be done and we'd be ready for a feast in our new kitchen on Christmas morning. I trusted her... but I've heard horror stories from neighbors with other contractors so I had my doubts. She and her team MADE it happen. A whole new kitchen, floors and guest bathroom in about 6 weeks. Primary contractor Danny is a true craftsman. All the subcontractors were fair and committed to our tight timeline at all costs (Tile workers working well past dark, electrician going above and beyond working after hours in week in the week leading up until xmas to complete). Vanessa handled any and all escalations/challenges with any vendors and sub-contractors promptly and fairly. I'd 100% recommend and use them again.

"For the leaky window, a bead of clear caulk was installed where the handyman thought it should go. This leak was the first in 10 years on a 10 year old house. The leak occurred on the day when tornadoes hit the state, no tornado here but very windy. Leak probably caused by the wind, but hard to tell. I guess we’ll see if that was it. The sticky door was fixed in moments, no waiting to tell for that, it works great now with no sticking. Also of note, I called on a Tuesday and they were here the next day.
