"Frank is a highly skilled expert in his field. He took our yard from grass to a complete resort-like feel with his hardscaping and landscaping design. From our first meeting with him, we knew he was our contractor. He listened to what we wanted and not only provided us with that design, but also gave his input as to what he would do if it were his yard. Ultimately, we combined the designs and couldnâ t be happier with our transformation. It went from a dream to a beautiful realty in a matter of weeks. Once the work started, Frank and his awesome team, Billy and Gary, were here every day until the project was done and did not take any jobs in between. Meticulous, dependable and clean workmanship, these gentlemen were the nicest men we have had the pleasure to work with. However, keep in mind that lawn aeration isn't very effective when there has been a long period of heavy rain, as the excess water can potentially damage the lawn in the aeration process. Wait until your lawn is predominantly dry to start the aeration process to ensure best results.

The easiest way to rough up soil to accept grass seed and provide the best opportunity for its growth is to make several passes over the area with a garden tiller and rake away the loosened vegetation and debris. However, in some cases, very hard ground may require using a shovel or pick to break up pieces into smaller chunks that the tiller can handle more easily.

You may need to lay sod on the areas you dug up once you get the okay from the contractor. It will take about 30 to 45 days for the sod to take root. Consult a local sod installer to get an accurate estimate of the timeline of your specific yard-enhancement project.

Treating dry soil can bring back a dormant lawn, but not a dead one. After nurturing a dry lawn back to proper moisture levels, you should closely observe whether your grass revives with the soil. If not, you may need to reseed your lawn or start fresh with new turf.

When you don’t aerate your lawn, the soil will become more compact over time. This limits how much water can soak in to reach the roots of your grass, and it keeps oxygen and carbon dioxide from the plant roots. This can limit grass growth, which may sound great for limiting mowing, but it also leads to a lawn full of grass that looks dull and sparse. Eventually, compacted soil can weaken grass, while also making it more vulnerable to pests, diseases, and erosion and even causing it to die off.
