"We hired Scott Barnhill (Barnhill Electric Co.)Through Angies List $111.00 for 2 hours of electrical work.  Our house was built in 1954
and was afraid there may be issues due to the old wiring.  Scott arrived right on time and got right to work.  He easily removed one light that no one had ever been able to take down and replaced it with a new fixture in a timely manner.  Then he went in the master bath.  My husband and I had tried to get the light bulbs out to no avail and I was very concerned that we would have to buy a new fixture.  Scott had me email him photos of the fixture and informed me that he would be able to fix it.  All I had to do was get new globes and Scott had it fixed in no time.  He then replaced a blown socket in the guest bath and even offered to get matching socket covers for the rest of the bathroom.  I forgot about replacing the remote control for the fan in the master bedroom and called him just after he had left.  He answered my call and we have an appt. set up for tomorrow to finish the last two items.
Scott is very personable and professional.  I am very happy to have found a reliable electrician.

"Great company! Professional owner! Hardworking Crew! Excellent job! I contacted the company on Tuesday 2/15 and the owner was professional and ready to assist. I explained what I needed and he listened, offered suggestions, and gave me a great price. I signed my contract the following day. Bright and early this morning the crew arrived and got right to work. It took them approximately 6 hours and they did a lovely job. I recommend Floyd's roofing of the Carolinas to anyone and everyone that needs roofing installation or repairs and I look forward to doing business with them in the future."

Door Repair questions, answered by experts

If your door is sticking at the bottom because it’s making contact with the floor, there are a few fixes you can try. Start by tightening the hinge screws. Next, check for a floor sweep or insulation on the bottom edge of the door that is getting caught on the floor. If these solutions don’t work, try sanding the bottom edge of the door.

The door jamb is one part of the door frame, which means you can sometimes replace or fix the door jamb without replacing the frame. However, check the frame for damage before you work on the door jamb. If there’s damage to the frame, you’ll need to fix that before repairing or replacing the door jamb.

The cost to remove an existing exterior door and close up the opening ranges from about $2,000 to $2,600. This cost includes removing the door and building a wall in the opening, and then installing siding and paint to finish it off. Consult a door installer with the specific details and measurements of your exterior door to get an accurate estimate of the project price.

To put your cabinet doors back on the hinges, first align the door with the hinge plates on the cabinet frame. Carefully slide the hinge pins on the door into the hinge cups on the frame, making sure they fit securely. Then, gently push the door into place until it’s flush with the cabinet frame. Finally, close the door to ensure it functions correctly and adjust the hinges if necessary.

First, determine what is causing the issue. If the doorframe was improperly installed without a consistent width from top to bottom, you’ll need to contact a door installer to install a new doorframe. If loose or missing screws are causing the issue, you can fix the problem with a few turns of a screwdriver. Other problems require removing the door and supporting it in the proper place with shims while you reinstall it.
