"We contracted Castleguard Services to completely redo our pantry. This involved removing the back (shared) wall of the pantry to utilize the closet space in the adjoining room. The existing closet that was being removed had to be drywalled and painted - you cannot tell that there used to be a closet door here. An electrical outlet was added and existing light was moved (subcontactor). Finally, shelving was added in the pantry to our exact height specifications. Matt was a pleasure to work with - he was extremely flexible - even redoing one of the shelves after it was installed too close to another without any push back. His estimate and final bill were extremely close - would absolutely use him again. See before and after pictures attached."

This is a family owned business and we pride ourselves with customer satisfaction as our number one priority. We make sure everything is clear and understood between both parties at all times. And even if there are changes to be made we make them without adding on many fees or hassle. Our motto is to treat customers as family members!

"We had a leak in the roof and it was winter and during a storm. The gentle man from the company visited our home twice , the first time had to go back due to snow on the roof and second time I was told that the roof leaf is to due to improper installation of vents . They collected the $149 dollars coupon that I bought on Angieslist and then I got a quote or $750, which is very expensive. Latter I was able to fix the same for a much less . In the process I wasted $149 for no reason"

Owner operated home repair and installation services. Owner has over 24 years experience in the plumbing, electrical, remodeling and the home improvement trades.

"It didn't go. The service was provided by Amazon when I placed the order for my basketball hoop. Flat Rate Services Charlotte assigned Glenn to complete the setup on 3/26 from 8-11am. I worked from home to be here for the setup. At 10:26am I received an cancellation from Flat Rate Services Charlotte stating "Customer didn't show up". I have been working in my office which is next to our front and only guest accessible door since 6am. No one knocked or rang the bell. My dog would also have alerted me if I was in the restroom. No phone call to double check the address or anything just the cancel. I called Flat Rate Services Charlotte to find out why they didn't show up and cancelled my order. Glenn answered and said he was here and no one answered. When I explained my office is next to the front door he hung up on me. I called and filed a complaint with Amazon. I wasted a day at home and we still don't have the hoop put together due to horrible communication and customer service."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Incorrectly wiring a single-pole switch results in the connected light or device not turning on or tripping the circuit breaker. Although it doesn't matter which terminal the hot wire and the load wire connect to, mixing up a circuit wire with a ground or having loose connections can prevent the switch from working.

No. When applied properly, electrical tape is designed to be an insulating material with high resistance to electricity. It can reinforce electrical connections and act as a safeguard to help ensure the electrical current stays within its designated pathways. However, it’s important to note that it can break down over time and you should never use it as a replacement for electrical wire caps.

Licensed electricians should perform work for safety reasons; improper installations can prove hazardous or result in code violations currently.

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep. If using an underground feeder cable rated for direct burial, you'll need to place it at least 18 inches deep, as it has no conduit for extra protection.

If there isn’t a C-wire on your thermostat, you can repurpose the G-wire. The G-wire controls the fan independently of the other controls on your thermostat, so the fan-only function won’t work if you decide to go this route.
