We contracted Castleguard Services to completely redo our pantry. This involved removing the back (shared) wall of the pantry to utilize the closet space in the adjoining room. The existing closet that was being removed had to be drywalled and painted - you cannot tell that there used to be a closet door here. An electrical outlet was added and existing light was moved (subcontactor). Finally, shelving was added in the pantry to our exact height specifications. Matt was a pleasure to work with - he was extremely flexible - even redoing one of the shelves after it was installed too close to another without any push back. His estimate and final bill were extremely close - would absolutely use him again. See before and after pictures attached.

Jim MacQueen did what nobody else could do, and effectively stopped the water from leaking into the bottom tray of our sliding glass door. We had one professional contractor that is a friend of ours look at it, and had another contractor try to repair it that didn't end up doing the job, and then when we called him back a few days later, he never even returned our call. It was hard to find someone to repair the door, most places I called only wanted to sell me new ones, but except for the weather stripping, our doors were fine and in excellent shape. In addition to the door, we also had the driveway patched that had a few small cracks. Jim used a new product called Slab that had worked for some other customers, but the product took several days to dry and even after that, there were still some soft spots. Jim came out again within a few days of our call and repaired it conventionally with regular concrete mix at no additional charge, and did a fine job. Jim MacQueen was a God send, and we will definitely recommend him and use him again for any repairs.

Matt is a very nice gentleman and I was very comfortable leaving him and his crew alone at my home when I had to leave for a couple hours. He and his crew did a great job and any concerns were promptly taken care of. Will definitely use again.

Both projects exceeded our expectations, and were done with great attention to detail. Matt runs his company in a very professional manner. Phone calls and emails are answered quickly and his written estimates are detailed. He confirms his appointments and comes according to the schedule and timeline provided. While on the job, he treated our home as if it was his own, and essentially worked continually throughout the day with just a short break for lunch. This has not always been my experience with other Contractors--even those with positive ratings. I would recommend Castleguard without reservation.

Very happy with work

I hired Castleguard in July of 2017 to replace two sides of cedar siding, stain the siding and also repair boards on front and back deck. Castleguard's pricing was extremely fair and the work was outstanding. The project took approximately 1 week. I really felt like they were treating the work as if they were doing work on their own home. They didn't rush, they went above and beyond what I expected and communicated with me the entire way through the project. I would hire Castleguard again and I would recommend them to any friend or family member.

Matt responded quickly with an estimate based on the pictures I provided. We agreed on the estimate and a date for him to perform the work. He was on time and after I showed him the area, he completed the work that day. He was very professional and cleaned up afterwards as if it was his home. We are very happy with the work. We will have more work to be completed over the coming months and will definitely have Matt as our first choice if he is available.

I love it!!!!!!!!! The ugly walls are now beautiful and functional. With the insulation, whether the day's hot or cold, the temperature in the garage is always pleasant. The workbench is fantastic! And thanks to the pegboard and shelves, everything has a place now. Matt's an excellent carpenter - his work is clean, solid, and beautiful. I feel really organized for the first time since moving here. Can't wait for Matt to make storage space in the attic. It's just empty and useless right now. Matt's a pleasure to work with and does an excellent job. He's the only handyman/carpenter I'll ever use as long as I live in this area. On deck with Matt is installing a sliding door for a closet, recessed lighting in the dining room, and assembling a storage shed in the backyard.

Wonderfully! Matt is very punctual and does a great job of communicating his plan so that you know exactly what to expect. I would hire Matt and CastleGuard without reservation the next time we have projects that we don't want to tackle ourselves.

Comminucation was fantastic.  He was on time, prepared to work.  Listened and reviewed items I needed done.  He worked quickly but yet did it all perfectly.  Left everything exactly as it was (no mess whatsoever) reviewed the completed work and answered all of my questions

Matt came out and gave me a bid. He promptly emailed an estimate and we decided to have the work done. He gave plenty of notice and showed up on time to start. They built a cozy deck using a portion of my dad's old porch planks in a day. They never stopped working other than lunch. Very professional and trustworthy!

Matt did a great job installing four light fixtures for us. He was on time, he was efficient and didn't make a big mess like some people do! The lights look great! I love his company concept of maintenance packages to keep your home looking good and working. Really nice guy, we're looking forward to using him again and helping with the "stuff" that goes undone!

Everything went really smoothly. Matt found a perfect match to our siding, worked quickly and efficiently, and was incredibly pleasant and courteous! I have worked with a few handymen and contractors in the past and he was by far the nicest to work with. The whole area was tidied up perfectly, too! He helped make my panic over a hole in the house into no big deal at all!
