"The technician was very knowledgeable and fast. He fully insulated the primary condensate drain line in the attic. Repaired end termination of primary condensate drain pipe at rear foundation wall. Replace media filter on return duct. He actually alerted me to the fact that the downstairs unit had two filters. One inside and one under the house. This restricts the air flow. Removing one would create better air flow."

"After our central AC unit stopped working abruptly this past weekend, I immediately searched online for a company to come troubleshoot the problem. Based on the many great reviews, I choose First Class and they certainly did not disappoint! Within 2 hrs of my online inquiry, I received a call back and was able to schedule an appointment for the very next day. Within 30 mins of arriving, the technician diagnosed the problem to be a loose wire on my AC unit. The technician, Jonathan Pepper, was very knowledgeable and a true professional throughout the entire visit. Definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a truly great experience!!"

"Absolute Professionals! Installation of Nest Thermostat went as smoothly as possible. They also removed an ugly fluorescent lamp and replaced it with stylish pendant lighting. Both jobs were completed perfectly. Would definitely recommend and hire again."

"They were great.  I called about 9am and they were at the home by noon (they probably would have come sooner, but I requested noon), and had the problem fixed shortly thereafter.  The capacitor at one of my rental homes had gone bad, and it affected both A/C units.  They didn't try to sell me anything extra, and didn't try to convince me that both A/C units needed to be replaced.  They just quickly fixed the issue for a fair price, and that's exactly what I needed.  One more thing was that my A/C unit had a unique capacitor, so they didn't have it in the truck and had to drive all the way back across town to get one.  They took it in stride and said it was all part of what they do.  Just a really cool company to deal with.

"EXCELLENT!!! Every interaction we had with Hunter was professional but caring, his attention to detail impeccable, and on top of all of that he was honest. It is rare to find someone in construction who makes you feel they are looking out for you but Hunter did just that! On our third day without hot water and too many discussions with plumbers I found Foothills Plumbing on Angie's List, the reviews were excellent, so I called. I was sent to voice mail but before I could leave a message Hunter was on the other line. I told him about my water heater coming apart at the seams and that we had been without hot water for several days and he assured me he could have it fixed within a day! I sent him pictures and he gave me an estimate on replacement which was reasonable for the job ( unlike some of the other bids I had received). We set a time for him to come by the next day and give me an in person bid. He arrived on time and brought a crew. He gave us two options- one to replace the tank with like kind and better quality and two to upgrade to tankless. He was honest that the tankless would be more but explained the differences. He was never pushy only informative. He was also patient as I had to have him repeat all of the information to my husband as well. We did end up upgrading but the cost was less than several other plumbers had quoted us for same kind and quality! Hunter and his team retrofitted our room to accommodate the new heater, found existing exhaust pipes that were unattached and reworked them, installed the hot water heater, and cleaned up all of the mess they had created on that same day! They worked well into the evening to make right on their promise of a hot shower that evening!!! We are so pleased with our new energy efficient system and greatful for Foothills Plumbing that we are already making a list of other, not so immediate :), jobs that we can hire them for. I am making flyers to send out to all of my neighbors! Honest, professional, caring, reasonably priced, quality, and excellent workmanship- Foothills Plumbing! [*** Link removed ***]"

"Bradley Construction gave me quick quotes on my repair, explained where to go to get samples of supplies, and started right away on my project. They installed a new ceiling in a large basement room, painted ceiling and walls, and installed new LVT flooring in most of basement and Hall. They finished the job, did excellent work, and helped me put all my furniture back in place!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

New constructions, renovations, and interior layouts benefit from expert drafting.

A designer is a great choice for remodeling projects that don’t require significant structural work. For remodeling that includes structural work like removing load-bearing walls, altering exterior walls, or adding on a room, an architect can design and execute the renovations while ensuring your home remains structurally sound.

If your project is complex, it may make sense to hire an architect to draw plans. An architect might also be a good person to hire if you want to ensure your plans adhere to building codes and regulations.

The average build timeline for a home is between six and 12 months, with timelines pushing toward the upper end of that range if you’re creating a custom design or need a lot of land preparation before getting started. Hiring a general contractor or a custom homebuilder will help speed up the process, as you’ll see fewer delays between different parts of the build process getting done.

The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.
