"Amazing! They reached out to me 30 minutes after my request was placed thru Angi. The appointment was set for 2 days later. Quote was the following day. I paid upfront for the materials, which they ordered, picked up, and delivered. They said materials would arrive on the 1st and install would happen on the 2nd, and it was done! I’m so impressed with the job! And more impressed with the service! Highest recommendation for these guys!!! 👍👍👍👍👍"

"Baron Harvin is an excellent brick mason. The lower half of the brick veneer between my garage doors was partially torn away when my cement driveway was removed. I kept the top part of the veneer supported by wood until I could find someone willing to make a repair. Mr. Harvin had no problem accepting the job. The work he did was outstanding. Not only did he seamlessly restore the lower half of the brick veneer at this part of the wall, he salvaged some of the original brick that was pull off the wall and mixed it with new brick that was a close match. He also matched the color of the new mortar with the color of the original mortar. I was very impressed with his attention to detail. He also repointed the brick stairs to my front door. Mortar had broken away from some bricks and was being washed away from the remainder. Tile at the top of the stairs was also coming loose, decades after original installation. Mr. Harvin did an outstanding restoration of those steps."

"Rick was great working with me to build my dream backyard putting green. I also had him build two chipping areas that are great. After everything was installed there was a huge rain storm that washed away some of the base. I reported it to Rick and they fixed it within a week (at no charge) and made it stronger so it wouldn't happen again. I could not recommend them more!"

"You can stop shopping for landscapers now because this guy is the end all in our opinion. Landscaping from A - Z ... vision creation, design, installation where no possible solution could have been foreseen on at least a 30 degree slope to a swampy pond. Jason does an INCREDIBLE JOB! You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! He is communicative, professional, visionary, and a problem solver who went above and beyond with his incredibly hard working team to produce a hardscape & landscape above & beyond our expectations. Reasonably priced, quality, DETAILED PRECISION work, you want this man and his team on your team!! We are still marveling at the transformation as we look at our beautiful yard day after day. He is still following up ensuring the sod is taking, fixing irrigation issues, and coming up with solutions for other projects. Happy to be a reference at any point. This company is about as low a 'risk' as you can take, and we have not had the pleasure of writing that about many contracting companies. "I have been a homeowner in Northeast Columbia, SC for more than 30 years. With many pine trees on our property I've had to deal with a number of tree removal companies over the years. I have found Rokey Branch Utilities (RBU) far beyond any of the many companies I have encountered and used for extensive tree work. They were immediately responsive to my initial contact - showed up on time - gave a good estimate - cut the tree down being sensitive not to damage my lawn - cleaned up even the smallest debris and carried it off. The team was gone within an hour of arrival with no evidence they had been in the yard. Rich Tinneny"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

You should have either an ABC or K-rated fire extinguisher in the kitchen. ABC fire extinguishers put out wood, trash, paper, plastic, and textile fires along with grease, oil, gas, kerosene, and electrical fires. A class K fire extinguisher is specifically rated for use in the kitchen and is designed to extinguish combustible cooking materials, including grease and fat.

To ensure the safety and longevity of your pre-fabricated fireplace, perform regular maintenance. This includes regular cleaning, checking the unit for cracks, and ensuring the venting and ventilation systems are clear and functioning properly. Additionally, scheduling professional inspections helps ensure safe operation.

You can safely build a fire pit on your patio as long as you use porous, fire-resistant pavers or a fire pit mat over existing pavers. Otherwise, you’ll need to have exposed ground beneath your pit. You’ll also need to make sure the location for the fire pit is far enough away from your house and any other nearby structures.

Start by checking the top or side edge of the door. Look for a certification label or metal tag stamped with details like the fire rating and information on the manufacturer. Even if it’s painted over, the tag should still be visible. Next, look along the edges for slim intumescent strips. They’re designed to swell up and seal gaps when exposed to heat. Finally, check if the door closes itself. Most fire doors have a self-closing mechanism, like an overhead closer or spring hinges. If none of these are obvious, contact a fire safety professional to help verify your door.
