"Derek and his team exceeded expectations. He was precise in his craftsmanship, provided daily updates, as well as made suggestions for improvements along the way. His crew was friendly and attentive to random questions. He met the targeted timeline and produced a beautiful patio, fire pit, and replaced the current sidewalk around the house. Highly recommend!!"

"This company is wonderful. This is a great example of “you get what you pay for”. Scott and his team did a great job. Beyond great job. We were always updated on progress and how things were coming. Scott was there any time we had questions. The knowledge amongst these men alone is fantastic. It gave us the comfort that they truly knew what they were doing. Everyone was extremely friendly. This was by far the neatest, most organized crew I’ve ever had work on any kind of project. Many neighbors commented on how neat and respectful of the property they were. After the project was complete they repaired any damaged grass and made sure we were pleased with everything. We will use them any time we can and I will and have already recommended them. The retaining wall came out great and we are so pleased with the patio and fire pit. This team went above and beyond. They really did an outstanding job."

Customers say: Quick response

"Since this project was to provide an exceptional living area for three very special pups, the quality, safe installation and proper layment of the turf to ensure their protection were paramount. S&S took extreme measures to make sure the turf was safe and extremely secure, while paying close attention to the ascetics of the turf in a beautiful presentation. Lee and Chris are delightful to work with, appreciate professional service and paid strict attention to detail not only in the turf, but the entire project. I would strongly recommend them to everyone considering the alternative of a safe, high quality, functional turf installation."

"Better than I ever imagined. Cut down one live tree, 3 dead trees and trimmed a very large tree. One tree was in danger of hitting the house (from storm) and he figured out a major rope and pulley system to Safely remove the difficult tree. The yard has left debris free . Love the look of my open yard now."

"This company is simply the best! They installed the 69TS variety from Artificial Turf Supply for the backyard playspace of our daycare and it is spectacular. Installers were excellent and worked into the night on our tight timeframe as well. You could not ask for better communication or workmanship. Enormous thank you to Rick and his team!!!"

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Attics often contain a mix of insulation, electrical wiring, and other materials that can pose fire risks. That’s why furnaces should be installed in the attic with proper insulation and clearance from combustible materials. Additionally, the furnace should be equipped with proper ventilation and heat shields to prevent the buildup of excessive heat in the attic space. Regular inspections and maintenance are also crucial to identify and address any potential fire hazards.

No, a chirping smoke alarm is usually a sign of an issue with the power supply of the unit. This is easily solved by replacing the battery to stop the smoke alarm from beeping. If the chirp continues, review the owner’s manual to determine the cause. These chirps are short and not as loud as the beeping of the alarm itself. If you can’t tell the difference, it’s best to treat it like an activated alarm until you find the cause.

Most homeowners put a layer of compact sand or gravel at the bottom of their firepit, but you can also choose more decorative options like fire-resistant paving stones, bricks, or fire pit glass. Dirt by itself can even work, but other materials do a better job of spreading the heat around.

Your pilot light needs to be on whenever you’re using your furnace to heat your home. However, you might decide to turn it off during the summer months, when you don’t need heating. Doing this can save you a little bit of money on utility costs—just make sure you’re fine with relighting your pilot light (or hiring a professional to do it) when fall comes around and you’re ready to get cozy.

Concrete homes have better fire resistance because this material is highly resistant to fire and heat. But any paint, siding, windows, roofing, or other materials on a concrete home may still be flammable. Never try to stay in a building with a large, active fire or a wildfire approaching because this can still be deadly. However, building a fireproof home with concrete can better protect the structure against total destruction.
