I called this morning and the male in the service department said I had to pay $125.00 for them to fix the self, I thought it was a lifetime guarantee, he said just the material, not the labor and over a recorded line I ask so the labor is not good, he said correct. While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Onyx countertops are naturally porous, absorbing liquids and staining easily without proper care. Regular sealing every 6 to 12 months is essential to keep them looking their best. Daily maintenance includes wiping up spills immediately and avoiding harsh cleaners or acidic substances that can etch the surface. 

The minimum counter depth for a kitchen island is around the same as for a standard kitchen countertop, which is around 25 to 26 inches. This depth allows adequate room for food preparation, dining, and working on the island. However, as with other kitchen countertops, depth can vary based on specific needs and preferences in your household.

It typically takes one to three days to install kitchen countertops. A few factors like size and material impact the time it takes to install a countertop. For example, if you have two slabs of countertop material, it won’t take as long to install as placing several custom pieces of countertop.

This timelines allows for removing existing countertops and any plumbing disconnect and reconnect that needs to happen. Plan on the higher end of the time frame if you've chosen custom countertops versus large slabs.
