"Sewer Daddy saved the day!! All of our toilets would not flush, our master shower and tub were flooding, and all of our sinks were making horrible noises & I had no idea who to call! So in the middle of our dilemma & trying to figure out what to do, a quick trip to a fast food drive thru for lunch, there in the parking lot was Sewer Daddy! They had just finished a job and said they would come right over, find out the problem & give us an estimate. Alvin, the owner of Sewer Daddy, went above & beyond taking his time to find out exactly what the problem was, how to fix it, & then gave us the estimate of the cost....of which I had to pick up my mouth off the floor because it was a low & honest amount...Iâ m not a plumber & could have easily been taken advantage of again but NOT by Alvin and Sewer Daddy! He fixed everything & on top of it he also fixed two of our toilets that were improperly installed by a former contractor! Alvin was extremely professional, efficient, friendly, and very affordable! He even called us a few days later just to check on us and make sure everything was ok! Needless to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEWER DADDY! THANK YOU ALVIN, GREAT JOB! I wonâ t use anyone else! SEWER DADDY ALL THE WAY!!"

"You can not do better than to hire this company for any project you may have. The gentleman who answered our emergency plumbing call, arrived as quickly as he could when no other "emergency" service would even respond. He refused to leave until the problem was located and repaired, even though he was here till well into the night, but he would not leave us until we had a properly working toilet. He was very knowledgeable, honest, and more than fair in his pricing. It was a very difficult job, as he had to do much searching and digging to locate the unmarked sewer line - a lot of hard work. I believe I can say in all honesty that I have never received better service from any repair service of any kind, ever. I highly recommend Homeland Residential Repairs."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Inspect regularly for clogs, clean drain lines, and ensure grading directs water away from the foundation.

Roto-Rooter does not charge by the hour, so the quote you get after your in-person consultation should cover the whole project. This includes the time it takes a technician to get to your house and the time it takes to complete the job. For context, a plumber will charge anywhere from $45 to $200 per hour, but you may also pay a service fee or flat fee.

If methods like hot water or a plunger don’t work on your clogged drain, you can snake your drain to dislodge the plug. This can be a messy process, taking some physical effort and additional time over the other drain-clearing options. You can purchase a drain snake at a hardware store and choose from handheld options or those attached to a drill. Just work slowly, and be ready to call a plumber if you’re unable to reach the clog from your drain or P-trap.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.
