"Jacob and Tim are amazing. I am writing to share our experience for the job they did with the gas line piping installation and water connection at our home. Tim took extra time to explain the scope of work and provided a clear understandable estimate. ( labor, materials, permits, warranty, payment terms and lastly affordable compared to others). NO upsell of services or get you to join their club. Their quality of work was exceptional, and we were impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail throughout the entire process. It is a relief to have such an important project completed safely and efficiently. We truly appreciate their expertise and will certainly use them again and recommend their services to anyone in need of a skilled plumber."

"Great service. Used 1st Choice for pumping and inspection service. Nothing urgent. Team arrived when scheduled with a 60 minute warning. Were done in about 30 minutes, leaving everything operating and clean. Had no problem answering all of our questions and addressing any concerns we had. Cost included pumping, filter cleaning and inspection of the tank and drain field. Highly recommended."

"Very well, rep came in, introduced himself, reviewed the situation, wasted no time in cutting it out, told me to ask my upstairs neighbors not to run any water in their kitchen sink. He ran to Home Depot to get a piece of pipe and when he came back he replaced the pipe and was out the door in less than 1/2 hour."

"I called 5 well drillers.  Cost estimates were $950.00, $1200.00, $1400.00, $1600.00 and over $1,700.00.  Scott Gant of Carolina Well Drillers gave a FREE on site physical estimate and was on time for the estimate appointment.  Carolina Well Drillers was the first company I called the day my well pump quit.  I finished my other "telephone estimates" that day and Mr Gant was the only one that physically gave an estimate.  One company would have to charge $100.00 for a physical estimate.
I gave the job to Carolina Well Drillers at 9pm on Tuesday.  They showed up at 11am, on time, on Wednesday and the job was completed at appox 1pm.  How's that for service?  Total cost was the estimated $950.00.  Scott Gant and Dave, his technician and assistant were very professional and attentive to details, a pleasure to have as my service company.

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Sump pumps prevent basement flooding, reduce humidity, and protect against water damage.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

There are a couple of similar alternatives you may consider for a sewage ejector pump, including a grinder pump or a submersible sump pump. Submersible sump pumps protect your home from flooding from outside water, though, rather than handling wastewater from inside. A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.

First, you can try unplugging the two sump pump cords, one for the motor and one for the float switch, then plugging them back in to reset the sump pump. You can also reset the sump pump by turning it off and back on at the breaker. Many sump pumps have a reset button, which you can press and hold for a few seconds to reset the device.

If your water pump fails, the first step is to turn off the power to the pump to prevent any further damage. Check for common issues such as clogs, electrical problems, or mechanical failures. If you cannot identify the problem, contact a professional who specializes in pump repairs. Prompt action can help minimize damage and repair costs.
