"Mr Handyman found an unexpected problem while putting down a floor. Michael and Jimmy were quick to evaluate and identify the problem. Michael explained what had to be done to fix the problem. "These guys were great. We had two separate issues they helped us figure out. One, I thought was a leak but it turned out to be condensation or something. They didn't try to upsell me or take advantage of my ignorance at all. They were very prompt. They had my sink leak and cabinet repaired less than 24hrs from me getting Angi. Standard door sizes aren’t one-size-fits-all, but there are common go-to dimensions. For exterior doors—like your front door—36 inches wide by 80 inches tall is typical, though you’ll see 30- or 32-inch widths too, especially in older homes. Interior doors vary more. Spacing a door is tricky since you need to leave enough of a gap for the door to move freely and not get stuck when the slab and frame contract and expand in dry and humid conditions. The ideal gap between a doorframe and slab is 1/8 of an inch. If the gap is any larger, the door will feel drafty. But if the gap is any smaller, the slab can get stuck due to weather changes.

A security door costs an average of $1,400, but costs can range from $600 for a simple screen or steel door to more than $4,600 for a wrought-iron security door. You can also buy specialized locks separately for $200 to $600. If you decide to hire a pro to install your new security door, you’ll spend around $275 to $425 on labor costs.

If you’re installing a pocket door into an existing door opening, the new space will need to be twice the width of the existing door, plus an inch. You'll need to double that number if you’re adding dual pocket doors.
