By the time he was done, we had prioritized what needed to be addressed immediately, what could wait until later and what we might consider for the long run. "Our experience with Porch Conversion fell far short of our expectations, both in product and customer service. Product-wise, we were not told, during the sales pitch, that the EZ breeze poly-vinyl would not provide a clear view; I knew vinyl would not be as crystal clear as glass, but the disparity is much more substantial than we could have imagined. I would describe it as a wavy distortion. This is the case with the panels with screens behind them and those without screens (upper transom). Secondly, the sliding panels, which are advertised on their website as ‘fingertip easy’ to slide, have not been our experience in the least. A lot of exertion needs to be applied to get the panels to the juncture to lock them up. That over exertion will not bode well for the product’s longevity and our aging muscles. If we were told that both situations were ‘the norm’, we would never have purchased the large panels. We would have considered going with the smaller vertically sliding panels or with glass. The customer service complaint is twofold - 1) the lack of transparency about the vinyl in the sales phase. At that time, I had emphasized to the saleswoman that the clearest view was our top priority. 2) The warranty gentleman was quick in getting back to us when I first reached out about our concern. After his visit, he said that there was no issue with the vinyl, and that he “could not go to bat for us” with the manufacturer. Subsequently, it took days to hear back from him about the sliding panel issue. Finally, we were told once again, that’s the norm with the larger panels; he also did not offer to send a technician out to see if there was any adjustment that could be made to make the panels slide as advertised. That did not seem like an unrealistic ask after doling out a nice chunk of cash for the system. The sad irony, about Porch Conversion’s warranty service, is that this was the deciding factor for us to choose them over another company, who had received frequent bad reviews about their ineffective warranty service. "We heard the crash- the kitchen chandelier had torn out of the ceiling and glass shattered everywhere. Reliable Electric had installed it 13 months ago. Their electrician, D., arrived at our home a few minutes before I did and my wife let him in. He arrived seething with anger and hostility- my wife said she felt threatened having him in the house. When I got home D. was still steaming mad and was basically shouting at me that it wasn’t their fault and it’s only a 12 month warranty and besides we probably did something to make it happen and so on. When I tried to ask him if he would let me complete a sentence he continued to shout so I walked to another room and he left the house. (My new electrician explained that the deck-style screws Reliable had put into the plastic ceiling can were a little too big and eventually the plastic split.) His boss (the owner?) Rich called the next day. He wasn’t yelling but it was clear customer retention was not a priority for him. No apology for D’s behavior, tried to blame us for the failure, no offer to make good on this (they had done many projects here), no ‘I’ll split it with you’ for what would be 1-2 hours of effort. “Reliable”?- nope."
