Customers say: Quality work

"From the first call I made I was so impressed. Mr. Craig continually kept me informed as to the day when they would come - when a previous job ran longer than they planned he called to keep me posted and let me know he would be there a day later - then called the night before to confirm again and arrived at the time promised. They did an excellent job - other than missing a very large dead tree on my front yard, you would never know they had been there as every bit of the tree, branches, etc. was removed. He also is an arborist so was able to answer my questions and give me advice about a replacement tree. Can't recommend him highly enough"

"Jireh Tree Service did an amazing job removing over a dozen huge Leyland Cypress trees from my yard. They did what seemed like mission impossible within a few hours including grinding the stumps and removing all the trees and debris from our yard. Our neighbors were shocked the next morning to see our trees all gone as if they were never there. I would highly recommend Jireh Tree Service. They are true professionals and their pricing was very reasonable."

Customers say: True professional

"They did an excellent job. We were impressed with their robot the one that did the tree stumping it was very interesting. I've never seen one before that is why I was very impressed. They also took all the branches and grinded them up on the spot. Also cleaned up after themselves that is why we appreciate that so much."

"Love this business. I really recommend this guy! I called him and he very quickly gave me an estimate. Then just a couple of days later he came in and removed 5 of my trees and cleaned up afterward and he also hauled off the trees! Great guy and great service. Highly recommend!!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is essential to confirm that any tree service company you hire is properly insured before they begin work. Tree removal, trimming, and pruning are dangerous jobs, and proper insurance protects you, your home, and the company from liability in case of accidents or damage. Look for a company that carries both general liability and workers’ compensation insurance, and do not hire one that cannot provide proof of coverage. When browsing for professionals, you can look for indicators like an “Angi Approved” badge, which signifies that the business meets standards like holding applicable licenses and passing a background check. Keep in mind that a license is a legal requirement to operate, while certifications are typically voluntary.

Aside from removing dead or diseased branches, you should prune your trees somewhere between every one and three years. Some people—particularly commercial farmers—prune their apple trees yearly to produce higher yields. This is the best way to promote tree health. That said, the average homeowner can get away with hard-pruning their mature apple tree every other year or every three years.

Ivy eventually kills trees by restricting its growth, blocking sunlight, absorbing nutrients and water from the soil, and weakening the tree. Trees with ivy are more likely to experience diseases, pests, rot, and fungi growth. When ivy weighs down tree branches, the tree is more likely to break during a storm and cause damage.

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.
