"On August 30, 2018 we hired Mr. Appliance of Aiken to repair an electric range. Their service tech responded and diagnosed the problem as the control panel and two other parts. The cost was projected at just over $500.00 total cost. Despite the high cost we decided to proceed because a new equivalent stove would cost more and there was the delay of purchase and delivery. As the service rep stated that he thought the parts could be in and the job done possibly as early as the 1st, probably by the 4th {because of the Holiday weekend} we agreed to wait. The next day we received a message from the company stating that the parts had to be back ordered and the delay would be 11 DAYS! In an age where anything ordered can be at your door in 1-2 days this seemed excessive. We cancelled the service call and asked for a refund, understanding that we would be charged for the service call. The company phone rep said it wasn't possible to speak directly with anyone in billing but she would have them call me later that day. They never did. Because of the holiday weekend we didn't actually get a commitment for job cancellation and a refund until Tuesday the 3rd. We were then informed there would be a $50.00 "restocking fee" for parts that were on back order and the company had not received yet. Wait- it gets better. The money was taken digitally from my account by bank card but my refund was made by check via U.S. Mail! I would warn anyone to avoid this company and its "business mode"l."
