"They responded quickly to my inquiry and were very informative. They were able to address my mold problem within a week. I chose Mold One because they only needed a half day to address my problem and they did not need to tear out walls and other affected items. Our basement/workshop was full of stuff which we did not have to remove. When finished the moldy odor was absent from the basement. Their price was considerably lower than that of conventional remediators. Their warranty is for one year and I am hoping the process holds up as promised."

Biohazard Remediation FAQs, answered by experts

Hiring a professional house cleaner costs between $120 and $240 per visit. Most homeowners can expect to pay an average of $170 for a cleaning and disinfecting service. House cleaning services may include disinfection of high-touch surfaces, but it’s best to ask your cleaner to be sure it’s included in their services.

Yes, many professional cleaning services include mold and mildew removal using safe, non-toxic solutions.

Yes. Black stains are more than an eyesore. Some black stains can pose health concerns, especially for those with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory conditions. Some stains can also damage the brick’s structural integrity, harming the mortar and resulting in more expensive repairs.

Most of the health problems associated with exposure to fiberglass insulation are short-term in nature. You may suffer from minor and temporary skin or eye irritation if you come into contact with it, and you may experience some sneezing, coughing, or breathing issues if you inhale fiberglass. Those with asthma and allergies may suffer more and longer. Though fiberglass was once a suspected carcinogen, there’s now no good evidence that exposure to fiberglass can cause lung cancer.

Yes, burning wood with Dutch elm disease is a safer way to dispose of it than, say, tossing it in with the rest of your yard waste, which could potentially allow it to spread to healthy trees. But it’s always a good idea to check with your local government to make sure you’re complying with any ordinances about removing diseased trees as well as burning brush piles.
