"Williams & Associates replaced an ancient, very large old boiler in my very large house. Bruce calculated the necessary size and found a suitable boiler. He and his crew thoroughly cleared the radiators and lines before removing the old boiler and installing the new one. They checked all the radiators and added new valves as needed during a lengthy checkout. It took several days to do all the work. Throughout, Bruce explained what they were doing and why as well as recommending changes/additions to the original proposal. They were even cheerful about removing the original "Mary Jane" from the basement. I would definitely recommend them to anyone using steam heat. Great job!"

"Kyle and his partner Derek were extremely professional and efficient. They found time to replace our boiler in an emergency situation despite being fully booked. They capped the pipe and replaced the water tank the next day! They cleaned the workspace and were organized and effective. I wholeheartedly recommend them!"

"Very good experience. Realized on a Sunday that the boiler needed replacement, called Sunday morning, they arrived to inspect and the following day the work was completed, i.e., very prompt service. I would recommend them to anyone."

"First of all this was the only company to actually answer the phone when I called. My air conditioning went down on a hot-muggy day. I was given an appointment 36 hours later. Jason called me at 8:00 am and said he was on his way and showed up promptly. My ac unit was blowing warm air and I suspected it needed to be charged. He first checked that and then stated to me that he thought it was the capacitor. He opened up the unit and mice had made a nest next the capacitor and chewed the wiring. He replaced it and finished the work in about 20 minutes for less than $100! He was professional, courteous and explained everything. I happily recommend T Gomes Heating & Cooling!"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Most installations take 2-5 days, including old system removal and setup.

Oil boilers provide reliable heating, efficiency, and long-term cost savings compared to electric options.

Boilers are equipped with multiple safety features to ensure safe operation. These include pressure relief valves to prevent overpressure, temperature high-limit switches to avoid overheating, and flame failure safety devices in gas boilers to cut off the gas supply if the flame goes out unexpectedly. Low water cutoffs prevent operation with insufficient water levels, and pressure gauges help monitor pressure levels. Ventilation and flue systems prevent the buildup of harmful gasses. Boilers often feature error code systems for automatic shutdown during malfunctions and gas leak detection for safety. Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure these safety features function correctly.

In most cases, repairing a radiator is more affordable than replacing it. A typical repair may cost between $100 and $200, while a replacement can average $1,500, with a range of $250 to $2,500 depending on the unit type. Radiator issues are often simple fixes for a professional, such as a blown fuse, malfunctioning thermostat, or a loose valve, and can take less than an hour. However, if the long-term costs of fixing the radiator are higher than replacement, it's better to get a new model. It is recommended to consult a heating expert to diagnose the problem and determine the best solution for your situation.

Steam boilers require flushing at least every six to 12 months to keep them operating effectively for as long as possible. Depending on your water quality and frequency of use, you might need to do this more frequently. The flushing process helps to remove problematic buildup of sediments. While a boiler contractor near you can perform a thorough annual flush, learning how to drain the system yourself means you can do this monthly if you experience speedy mineral accumulation because of hard water.
