Hiring workmen can be ridiculously stressful and frankly occasionally infuriating. We had a small business ourselves, so I really am stunned sometimes by how badly some people run theirs. SO often I can’t get plumbers or workmen to follow through on one or more steps in my hiring process; either they don’t come on time or when promised (!), disappear after we ask for a written estimate, or charge us unnecessary fees up front. Plumbing/reliable sanitation is an essential need in every home, and can probably be a difficult profession; but it is necessary for health and well-being.
