"All I can say is WOW! I woke up his morning, a Saturday, to a swarm of yellow jackets on my front porch. So I came to Angie’s List and found Allstate Pest Control. Because of their high ratings I decided to give them a call. That was at 10am. I spoke to a helpful woman who said that she would have one of the technicians call me back within 15 minutes. In 8 minutes I received a call back. I explained the situation to the technician and he said that he would be at my home in about an hour. Exactly an hour later he was in front of my home. Because I have 2 dogs, I was very worried about their safety with whatever products were going to be used. He took his time explaining the process to me and how to keep th dogs safe. He treated the nest and told me about the company’s great warranty. I feel that the price paid was more than fair considering the amazing service provided. Do not hesitate to call this company. They will be my go-to for any future needs."

"They sprayed the perimeter for bugs and spiders, total pest control and extermination. The Head Administration was fantastic and their prices were great. The people who came out to do the job were cordial, respectful, and very knowledgeable."

"This my first experience with Encon Pest Control of their service. I like to especially thank Mr.Ron for his wonderful service and took care of the job as he is going as like his own house, he was very polite, nice, and so generous. If there was the rating system 100 instead of 5.0 I would rate Encon and Mr.Rob 100. Again thank you so much for your service, looking forward to sticking with Encon Pest Control for many years to come."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

No, one snake does not always mean more. While snakes do often congregate in dens to breed, for most of the year, they are primarily solitary creatures that do not travel in groups. A single snake may make its way near your home in search of food, warmth, or shelter.

Brown recluse spiders are attracted to homes and properties in search of shelter and food. Key attractants include a steady supply of insects, which are their primary food source. Consequently, things that attract other bugs, like food left out or poorly sealed trash cans, will also indirectly attract spiders. They also seek warm, dry, dark spots with nooks and crannies for nesting, such as untended wood piles, dirt piles, and cardboard boxes. Additionally, excessive outdoor lighting can attract insects, which in turn draws in spiders.

Male carpenter bees actually don't have a stinger, but they will hover around areas as a defense mechanism to deter intruders. However, females can sting but are not typically aggressive and tend to only sting when threatened or provoked. They are less active at night, so you are less likely to encounter them because they tend to rest at night.

There aren’t any solutions that can rid your yard of mosquitoes for good. But with a good integrated management strategy that combines repellents, treatments, decluttering, and drainage, you can keep populations in check.

Water bugs won’t actively chase you, but they earned the nickname “toe-biters” for good reason. Water bugs are highly defensive. They typically rest an inch or so below water, waiting for prey. But if they feel threatened by a human that gets close, they may inject the person with a harmless venom from their legs, which may feel like a bite.
