"The owner himself sold me my replacement windows. I remember him making a big deal that all windows come with a LIFETIME Warranty. We joked about having small children and the unexpected things that can happen. He reassured me Lifetime means Lifetime. He also hand wrote it on my invoice. That coming from the owner was a large part of why I paid Venture more than their competitors. A few years passed and one of my windows started getting cloudy. I went to Venture and in a week or so I picked up my replacement. Now again I have another cloudy piece of glass. Only this time Venture forwarded me to their vendor who told us we would need to fill out an online form. After approx 4 weeks with no update we contacted them again. They said since its been 20yrs we would need to pay $70 for the replacement. I left a message for Bruce only to be called back by his staff to let me know $70 was more important than honoring their agreement. This is something to consider before hiring."

"I had a terrible experience with Roofers Edges & Siding Inc. We decided to replace the roof for solar system, and hired them to do the job. Remember: you are not hiring Kevin but his crew!!! The communication was extremely poor. At first, despite Kevin agreeing to use an ice shield for the front of my house, his crew was unaware of this requirement. I saw they are using the wrong material, and I had to contact Kevin at the installation day to ensure they were doing the job correctly. It was frustrating that the crew couldn't understand English, and Kevin himself never showed up at my house after the initial estimate. To make matters worse, the roof replacement resulted in a severe water leak problem between my chimney and roof. I asked them to fix it, but they failed once and never showed up again even though they provided an one-year warranty. At very beginning, I fully trusted them, and didn't check regularly, eventually I found the leaking problem persisted several months after the replacement the roof! Despite numerous attempts to contact Kevin, he consistently failed to respond to my calls and texts. Instead, he tried to blame the issue on a chimney problem, and told me they can do a water test, but that never happens. I eventually had to hire a new company to look into it, and they found out that the FLASHING was NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY!!! and I can see the sky from my attic. I had to pay extra money to redo the flashing job, and Roofers Edges & Siding already lost my trust. The lack of professionalism continued when they claimed to have applied for a permit for the job, and I trusted them. However, several months later, I found out that there was no record of the application with the town. When I contacted them, they said the issue is an incorrect address, how un-professional they are! Overall, I would not recommend Roofers Edges & Siding Inc to anyone. Their poor communication, lack of professionalism, and shoddy workmanship were unacceptable. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy roofer, I suggest you look elsewhere."

"Eric came to my house personally and met with me and explained everything extremely thoroughly. He was there for almost an hour explaining to me the ins and outs and was very personable, we enjoyed a great conversation afterwards. Eric was by far the most professional contractor i had met with and I met with several! Eric was the only contractor I met who went up into my attic to access damage and explain to me what needed to be done because of this. Some contractors didnt meet with me or see the house at all and sent digital quotes of a house they had never been to. Eric's crew came and finished the roof in one day on a house that completely needed plywood. The materials were dropped off the day before and the dumpster as well. There was no signs that they had even been there! They use very large magnets to pick up any stray nails and they sweep up and left the place in better shape then when they arrived. Eric even took the time to notice my bathroom vent wasnt vented to the roof and fixed it. Eric communicated promptly and effectively and I would recomend him to any and everyone who needs work done!"

"A very bad prolonged wind storm did major damage to many houses in the area. Many homes had roof damage, including our two roofs. More work than there was contractors to repair them. We were not in the area at the time, nor knew any contractors in the area to repair our roofs. During major catastrophes, you have to be careful not to be con'd by unqualified con artist looking to take your money, so we chose Angie's List for a contractor. We chose Excel (Mike) to repair our roofs. He is licenses and insured and his quote was the lowest of all the quotes we received. Even though he was extremely busy with all the work that was out there, he found time on the weekend to repair our roofs. We signed a standard service contract and Mike started the job as promised. The roofs came out awesome, Mike and his crew did an awesome job !! And they did it all while trying to fix everyone else's roofs. Not knowing where to turn to during this major weather event, and being out of town, it was nice to know that you can trust Angie's List to provide qualified people. You can also trust Excel to do a great job at a great price and be confident when you give them a deposit, they can be trusted. The entire transaction was done long distance without ever meeting each other. It was mutual trust based on reviews and being qualified to be on Angie's List. Just imagine when your transaction is in person."
