"I used them last year for a series of five treatment during the summer. It did a very good job controlling the mosquitoes. I hired them this year and gave them my credit card. They told me they would start treatments in a couple of days. they never showed up I was never able to reach a person directly so I left numerous messages. Never heard back. I heard they may have closed down their operation. A shame, they did a nice job."

"We've been using them for several years. He is very polite. He made arrangements ahead of time as to the day and timeframe. It was good. We've been married for 13 years and my husband was using them before we got married. He is very pleased with them. We haven't had any problems with pests."

With freezing temperatures finally upon us and a neighborhood with a squirrel population explosion afoot, we found ourselves with a pesky, persistent squirrel h***-bent on chewing its way into our attic via the roofline just under our gutters.  It was a corner of the house too tight for us to fully reach and effectively secure from inside the house, and too high and dangerous for us to reach from a ladder outside.  It was clearly a job to be done ONCE and RIGHT, A JOB FOR PROFESSIONALS.  Bewildered by the chewing and persistence, I left a message for Mr. Merritt on Wednesday, January 12.  He called me back within a few hours.  He was a delight to speak with.  He sent technicians Ray and CJ out early (8:30AM) the next morning, January 13th.  They had all the right equipment and expertise.  The hole was confirmed vacant.  They stuffed it with steel wool and shored up the hole with aluminum sheeting and screwed it on tight.  For the first time in about 5 days I could relax and not worry about listening for that awful chewing sound, neither running out of my house nor sticking my head out our attic window to shoo-away that darned squirrel.  These men did a great job.  The condition of our fascia board was in very good shape (not rotted or in bad shape to start with), so it was just unfortunate that the squirrel chose THIS SPOT to work so hard to get in.  We could not have done the job ourselves, safely or as efficiently as these gentlemen did.  They knew what materials to use, and they had it all ready to install.  They were able to a**** the situation and provide a remedy that would work well for us.  The job was done in about 45 minutes.  The charge was perfectly reasonable and I would certainly call them again if I had another problem.  I would also recommend them to everyone.

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

The best time of year to remove bats is autumn until spring. In fact, many states have restrictions on bat removal, mandating it to start sometime in August and go up until May. For some states, the removal period stops in March. Your pest control pro should know of any restrictions and can help you pick an optimal time for removal.

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.

DIY treatments may help minor issues, but professionals provide long-term solutions and prevent recurrence.

Certain strong smells may help repel bats, though this is not a foolproof method and is best used in conjunction with other deterrence strategies. Scents like peppermint oil, eucalyptus, cinnamon, cloves, and mint are often suggested as natural remedies. To create a spray, you can mix two cups of warm water with half a cup of sugar and a few drops of your preferred essential oil. Apply this mixture using a spray bottle to possible entry points and throughout the affected area, such as an attic. While this home remedy is popular, evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited.

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.
