"Jim did a great job on my project. I couldn’t be happier. He was quick to respond, did the project in a timely manner, showed up when he said he would and cleaned up after he was complete. He is very professional and has a great personality. A pleasure to work with. I highly recommend his services. I will be calling him for future projects."

"It went perfect! It's good to be skeptical about any company with such great reviews and no bad ones, but this company is legit. When I inquired I heard back right away and Linda provided me with great info. She was very responsive without being aggressive. She set up a convenient time for me and came to show samples. I immediately decided to go with Supertint and she booked me in a very reasonable time. Dustin and Chad came out and were fast, clean, knowledgeable, and polite. The windows look great and I am really kicking myself for not knowing about this option years ago. All appointments were kept, everyone always showed up on time - I'm not really sure what more I could ask for. I would absolutely hire them again and have already spread the word to some friends. Great job Supertint crew!"

"I've used them for multiple jobs. I've used them for interior jobs only. It was incredible, they did a lot of work for very little money. I called them back and gave them bigger jobs. So I was very satisfied with them. Nate is the owner, he is on the job site and his crew is superb. There is nothing that I can find that he should do to improve."

"Mike, the owner/installer is a great guy.  He is punctual and knows his business.  His price is very fair and reasonable probably because he offers only one type of railing.  Customer has no choice of selection of railing.  Mike will paint the railing any color you want but the style is the same. It is a very basic functional railing....which is fine if that is what you want.  A complaint I have is that the railing does not feel like it was "finished".  There are some rough spots/edges that Mike suggested I sand lightly if it is bothering me.  I would have preferred that he sand it smoothly himself at his shop before painting it.  It only took Mike and a helper 1 hour to install all four railings (which included a supporting post and drilling through a metal pole....that was very welcomed.

Window Shutters questions, answered by experts

Wood is the most classic shutter material. Common options include pine, cedar, or brasswood. MDF shutters are also a more affordable option that retains the timeless, classic look. Composite shutters, mainly vinyl and aluminum shutters, have also become more popular over the years. You may also find steel shutters, sometimes referred to as security shutters, used on the exterior. Shutters also come in various colors and finishes, adding another layer of design flexibility.

Estate shutters offer more energy efficiency, privacy, and light control than blinds. They provide better insulation against heat and cold, lowering your energy bills. They’re also sturdy, durable, and last much longer than blinds (up to 50 years or longer). They’re also low-maintenance and can add curb appeal to your home. The return on investment (ROI) for estate shutters is around 75%.

The most popular estate shutter brands include Hunter Douglas, Budget Blinds®, and Graber®. Hunter Douglas shutters cost $20 to $26 per square foot and include high-quality hardwood and faux wood options. Budget Blinds shutters cost $20 to $24 per square foot, depending on if you choose natural wood or another material. Depending on the material, Graber shutters range from $18 to $24 per square foot.

Plantation shutters cost an average of $2,990, making them one of the pricier shutter options. However, they offer a 75% return on your investment and are great options for boosting curb appeal and property value. Most people go for plantation shutters for their timeless, vintage look. They also provide the strongest light blocking and temperature control for your home.

Not all windows are suitable for shutters, as certain styles can prevent them from functioning correctly. It's best to avoid installing shutters on bay windows, picture windows, dormer windows, and double-mulled windows. Shutters are better suited for large, full-size standard windows or French doors.

Additionally, consider the room's lighting needs. Since shutters effectively block light, they are an excellent choice for rooms where you want more darkness and privacy, such as a master bedroom or a main living room. For window types that are not ideal for functional shutters, some homeowners choose to install fixed (non-functional) shutters to maintain a consistent look across the home.
