Small jobs welcome

"Chimney Scientist were a real pleasure to work with -- both from scheduling the visit, explaining the work that needed to be done, making the repair. They were able to fit us in before Xmas so that we could have a fire for the holiday!!! They were very polite and quick!!! I would hire them again"

"Michael was amazing. He came out and peformed an evaluation to see the issue and figure identified some other issues. I received other quotes and the same things were identified. His quote was was fair. Not the lowest, but he was more thorough and we didn't want anymore issues due to poor workmanship. Also, he took the time to explain the issues and suggested we look it up (orphaned water heater, size of exhaust from water heater to chimney, chimney lining, poorly installed rain cap). I suspect that those with the lowest price sacrifice quaity. I didn't want to have to pay more to redo something later - because this is why we needed him to begin with a few months after buying the property. We don't feel like we have to worry about his work. They also cleaned up afterwards and even laid a cloth down at the entry way to keep the floors as clean as possible. He is our guy for the masonry work we need done in the spring and forevermore."

"We had wind driven rain water seeping in through the masonry on the front of our house. I contacted Disciple Masonry based on numerous positive reviews, and w weren't disappointed. From start to finish, the experience was great. Joey responded quickly to my initial call, and came out to provide a plan of action. They would repoint the mortar joints in the area outside. Inside, parging and waterproofing paint were applied. All commitments were kept, and Scott did an excellent job. His workmanship clearly demonstrated he has a great deal of pride in his work. I was impressed to find that new mulch was applied to work area outside after the masonry work was completed. That's attention to detail. Dan, and Nathan were also helpful with keeping me informed about weather related issues, and answering questions. All in all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend them, and will definitely hire again if needed. Thank you Disciple Masonry!"

"The company was very responsive to our written inquires via Angie's list. We scheduled an inspection and cleaning of the fireplace in a home we just purchased. Two men arrived on the day scheduled. They arrived later than planned, but they did call to tell us they were running late. Upon arriving, they promptly inspected the firebox, as well as the interior and exterior of the chimney, and told us that there was no need to sweep the chimney because it was already clean (minus some cobwebs that they said would burn off when we light our first fire). As such, they did not charge us for the visit. They did alert us to some wear and tear that they saw on the chimney crown which could allow bugs and animals to get in the chimney. They gave us an estimate to replace the crown, and we plan to schedule that service."

"I moved into a 1917 house that needed several electric jobs. Brad evaluated every part of the project, took into consideration my vision, and then went to work. He came out a few days early after only maybe 48 hours after I rang the company, which was highly recommended to me. The consult took 45 minutes (lots of mini electric projects) and he immediately went to work. Within maybe 2-3 hours after he first arrived for the consult, every project was done. I thought it would take several days spread out over a few weeks with return visits. He isn't a master. He is the master who taught the master and is young and energetic, but with over two decades of experience. Think Formula One pit-stop in terms of speed and German car efficiency in terms of quality. He knows all the codes, where exceptions lie, where the spectrum ranges from small, medium, and large fixes depending on the vision of the project (e.g., rental vs owner-occupier). He is also an artist at his craft with an appreciation for tidiness, presentation of wiring, attention to detail, and correctness. If you are looking for a $10 - $50 quick fix stick up battery light job, Brad is not your man. But he does help out across the rental to owner-occupier spectrum with excellent prices. If you want the job done right, even on a moderate budget, there are no better electricians out there. I have had many electricians over the years across multiple countries I have lived in and Brad was hands down the best overall."

"We’re enjoying the heat and beauty of our new fireplace as I write this! Chimney Cricket supported us through a tough series of errors caused by manufacturer’s lack of support. Finally they were able to locate the errors and get our beautiful new fireplace up and running. My only word of warning to folks considering installation of a new fireplace: make sure the model you select has a track record of easy installation and servicing, and that the manufacturer is known for standing behind their products."

FAQs for fire pit installation projects in Springfield, PA

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
