McCrea is a family owned business that has served our area since 1936. Financing and rebates are available on Trane systems installed by McCrea. Resistrictions apply and these are limited time offers call for details. "Its hard to stop a Trane"

"We bought a new construction and McCrea installed the HVAC. Home inspection identified the heat pump was not working in Oct. 2020. McCrea identified it was due to leaking refrigerants and promise fixed the issue. Our electric bill was extremely high the following two months and the heat pump was not cooling in Spring 2021. McCrea sent technician and again repaired the system. Bought their maintenance plan. We had 4+ repairs plus regular tune up in the past two years. Last week the heat pump stopped cooling again. We are out of labor warranty and charge us with $89 diagnostic cost after membership discount. It took three days for them to send someone to check while we suffering 90F in our house. They identified the compressor dead and need replacement. They charge $1900 for labor after membership discount. Most likely cause of the compressor failure is "suicide" with assistance. Low refrigerant at beginning and over change in later repairs likely contributed the short life."

"Davis Construction and Mechanical were absolutely fantastic to work with. I simply cannot say enough good things about them. They are a no-nonsense father-son team who don't sub-contract. When you hire them--they do the work. When I solicit estimates, I typically get at least 5 quotes. A couple other companies (not naming names) had very fancy presentations--but offered estimates at more than double of Davis Construction and Mechanical's quote. The Davis' walked through our home while we talked about our vision. They, in turn, gave us a concrete vision of what they can accomplish within our budget. During the project, we changed our minds multiple times, varied on what we wanted. The Davis' were extremely patient and understanding and ultimately exceeded our expectations. Our budget grew because of add-ons we asked them to do. They stuck true to form on the additional projects and delivered results above expectations. I am a fiscal hawk (I work with money and budgets for a living) and felt comfortable talking dollars and budgets with them at all times. I usually move forward on projects with a strong poker face...but with Davis Construction and Mechanical, I could relax knowing I was getting maximum bang for the buck. In addition to some other projects, we completely remolded an unfinished, uninsulated attic adding 850 SF of living space with 2 large bedrooms and a full bathroom. Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.

Bathroom vents' expected life span is about 10 years, but it can be even less without proper care and regular maintenance. Dust and debris, such as hair trimmings and excess moisture, are more likely to build up in vents installed in such spaces, which is why it’s so important to clean them every six months.

To get rid of humidity in your bathroom, you’ll need to increase ventilation and minimize moisture. Install an exhaust fan or dehumidifier. Crack a window. Remove wet towels and clothing. Wipe down surfaces to reduce standing water or condensation. You can even install an anti-fog mirror. Taking shorter baths and showers can help, too.

If your fan is ceiling-mounted and will vent through the attic to the outside, you will need an electrician to handle the wiring, and if you need to install ductwork for the first time or replace existing ductwork, you will need an HVAC professional as well.
