Providing high-quality heating and cooling repairs and installation to the Coraopolis, Sewickley and surrounding Beaver County areas. Whether it is system design, furnace or air conditioning replacements or repair service, or duct fabrication, Betlyn’s constantly strives to be the best and to offer our customers innovative solutions to their HVAC-R needs.

"Hire with Caution! This company installed 4 furnaces for me over the last 3 years in other rental properties I own. I recently purchase another property out of foreclosure and no one has lived there for several months if not at least a year. I knew the furnace was working since I did have the heat on but I wanted them to clean the furnace and check the AC unit as it felt like it wasn't cooling. I also waited after the remodel as I knew both would be dirty afterwards. They went to the property, gave them the code to enter so they could go on their own time as it was still vacant. The feedback from Betlyn was the furnace was cleaned, check and in working order. The AC on the other hand was out of freon and they recommended replacement due to the age of the AC unit. I spoke to the owner on the phone and he gave me a price to replace the furnace and said nothing else. I wanted to obtain another estimate for the AC replacement. When this company came to the property, they called and said the furnace is dirty and there is no air flow at all (see photo). I called Betlyn to find out why they didn't clean the furnace as that was what I paid to have them do. The owner was extremely rude, condescending and just down right disrespectful. He kept asking if I was going to have them replace the AC unit and said the furnace would be cleaned as that was part of the AC replacement price (but they never told me this originally). I asked what was my $110 payment for and he gave me some rude comment and made up story, he even told me the gas wasn't on (which it was as the heat was on). Then he kept asking if I was going to have them do the AC unit, I said I want my furnace cleaned first and then he hung up on me. The bottom-line is don't ever question their work then you will never have to worry about being hung up on. $110 down the drain!"

"Owner showed up with a small crew and a crazy new piece of equipment. Excavated down below my foundation and to the septic tank. Came into the basement and jackhammered the floor. Removed all the old terracotta pipe inside and out. Installed all new PVC pipe all the way down to the septic tank. Put gravel down to protect the new pipe. Poured concrete in the basement to close the floor back up. Only took one day to get the new pipe in. Came back the next to close the ground and floor up. Great experience, basement no longer smell like sewage."

"First of all, I can can do plumbing myself, but it usually involves more than a day or two and multiple trips to one of the big box stores. Since the tub hardware was old and corroded, I didn't want to take a chance of making things worse, so I decided to call in a professional; that the toilet started leaking was a (happy) coincidence for me, so he or she could do that at the same time. I contacted TruPlumbing and Tom was dispatched for the job... he contacted me to set up a time and date for the service call and also gave me a quote and the option to buy my own parts for the job, telling me what was needed, Tom arrived on time and had both jobs completed in a few hours; he was very professional, covered his shoes so as not to track dirt into the house, and explained what all he had done. I would definitely recommend TruPlumbing and will use them in the future."

We are a full service heating and air conditioning contractor. We have 24 hour emergency service available. We currently have approximately 100 employees and we do not use sub contractors. Please visit our website at www.climatech.com for valuable offers and financing options.

"Terrible: 1) Installer did not install as agreed upon. Line was to be placed behind wallboard. They insisted it would not fit, but I found out later when I had another HVAC company install the same units at my work office and did place lines behind wall board behind 2x4's. Be honest will ya! 2) Installer damaged a valve in condenser causing unit to leak which needed replaced. I asked for a new condenser, but Climatech refused and repaired. and warranted the repair. I would have rather had new. 3) Installer split the copper line in two places. A 2nd installer had to come out several days after install to repair and finish install. I requested a new copper line, but they again refused, but instead warranted the repairs. I again wanted new. 4) They sale the unit as most quiet in industry, but when it get's below 40 degrees outside condenser hums and struggles over condensation. The inside unit gurgles and whistles and hisses over it as well. They had a Mitsubishi person come out. Their response is unit runs normal and the operations manual states that the noise is because of condensation and won't do anything further about it. I would have not ordered the unit knowing this. They should list this before selling it. Emailing me an operations manual after the fact of install and payment is just not an acceptable response. Neither Climatech nor Mitsubishi is showing any integrity nor addressing the noise problem. I would not use either again. I am exploring legal options and trying to develop a class action legal case over false advertisement to obtain a replacement unit to eliminate the noise or refund. Very disappointing to spend the one and get this from companies such as this. Email me for more information [email protected] Look at the pictures to see how bad their install looks in a finished room over the false position of their installer."

When something is wrong at your own home, its no small thing. Others might think the project is small or unimportant, but the little things make a big difference when it isn’t just a house, but it’s your home. At Hardworking Handyman, we work hard to make your home be what you want it to be. We believe that no project is too minor because you, your family, and your home are worth it.

"Shawn was on time, kept me informed of work done. His estimate was reasonable and any changes were talked about before the work was done. Shawn does excellent work in a timely manner, very thorough. He is honest and a kind person. I would highly recommend!"

Boiler Repair questions, answered by experts

Although baseboard heating is expensive to operate, hydronic style heaters usually aren’t as costly as other models because they maintain temperature longer than standard electric baseboard heaters. Since the liquid retains the heat longer, it prevents the thermostat from turning on and off as often, which makes it more energy efficient.

Chilled water HVAC systems use water instead of traditional components and refrigerants. They're more common in commercial settings than residential ones but are slowly being adopted by some homebuilders to cool homes. As the name implies, the system keeps the water chilled at 40 degrees and circulates it through water coils. The water absorbs the heat from your home and drains outdoors. Condo apartments are more likely to have chilled water HVAC than single-family homes because this system is designed to cool several rooms or large areas individually.

A furnace takes in cool air, heats it through the burner and heat exchanger, and sends the air on its way to warm your home. A boiler is a pressurized vessel that produces hot water or steam to heat the home and provide hot water. A boiler may or may not work together with a furnace.

Over time, a radiator can leak if turned off due to the built-up air pressure, which can cause water or coolant to leak. If your radiator leaks when it’s off, turn your whole system off and bleed the radiator, then turn it back on. If it’s still leaking, you might want to have an HVAC professional look at the issue.

A home radiator works by using radiation and convection to transfer heat throughout your home. Electric radiators use metal to conduct heat and warm the air, which then rises to warm the room. Steam and hot water radiators work with a boiler and piping system to pump thermal energy throughout the home. Hot water radiators use a boiler to heat the water before circulating it to the radiator, while steam heating radiator systems convert the heated water to steam before circulating it out. When the water or steam cools, it travels back to the boiler to be heated again.
