"Owner showed up with a small crew and a crazy new piece of equipment. Excavated down below my foundation and to the septic tank. Came into the basement and jackhammered the floor. Removed all the old terracotta pipe inside and out. Installed all new PVC pipe all the way down to the septic tank. Put gravel down to protect the new pipe. Poured concrete in the basement to close the floor back up. Only took one day to get the new pipe in. Came back the next to close the ground and floor up. Great experience, basement no longer smell like sewage."

Oversizing a well pressure tank won’t hurt your well system. Larger tanks result in longer and slower pump cycles and consequently fewer startups and longer runtimes, which means the tank may have better longevity. The only drawback to oversizing is efficiency since larger tanks tend to cost more and take up more space.

A leaking well pipe is quite different from if the well itself is leaking. To seal a leaking well, pour a cement mixture or bentonite into the space between the well casing and the borehole wall. The heavier cement collects at the bottom to form a solid seal, pushing lighter materials like mud and fluids up toward the surface. There are several signs that your well pump’s pressure switch isn’t working as it should. For instance, if your pump runs continuously, produces weak water pressure, or doesn’t turn on at all, you may have a bad switch.
