Basement Drainage Channels Installation
Yes, I recommend this pro
They worked steadily, efficiently. They were respectful of our other furnishings trying to keep the dust and dirt from getting to them. They were pleasant to speak with. They explained a few things when I asked. I would recommend them to anyone that was looking for a company that would deal with their water in the basement problem.

Field Inspector Kevin Adams did a thorough evaluation of my basement, answered all my questions and provided me with a competitive estimate. Cameron Shoemaker scheduled the work, and the crew did an excellent job and finish the project on time.

Highlander fixed our crumbling garage wall. They were here on the day they said they would. Worked diligently for 2 days . Completed job looks great. Garage has stayed dry even with rains we have had recently. Would highly recommend.

Foundation Drainage Installation and Replacement
The employees that arrived to do the work were good workers. They were either unaware of the contracted work or mislead. They were not going to install the J Channel per the service agreement, and they had planned to backfill the ditch with the earth they had removed. The contract called for the ditch to be filled to surface with gravel. The installers called the office and explained that a J Channel was agreed on and someone from the office delivered it to satisfy my request. They were going to install the J Channel in segments vs one solid piece across the length of the ditch. I told them the segment seems would allow the water to get thru the J Channel and weep thru our foundation once more. They did the work as I requested but had I not been there or had I been a customer that did not know any better, this job would not have been done correctly or as agreed upon in the contract.

The crew that performed the work was extremely knowledgeable and professional. They were able to complete the work within 4 hours. They cleaned up as they went and left the entire job site looking great when the job was completed. I am extremely happy with the entire process: from the ease with getting an estimator on site, to the scheduling and execution of the work.

I signed up to have a modular log home built on an existing foundation. The builder had a number of specifications that needed to be met to get the foundation ready for the new house. I contacted 8 other companies, but no one could help me with my long list of tasks. When I finally got ahold of Highlander Waterproofing, I started by telling them I was a problem child. I listed all the work that needed to be done and Mike told me that nothing on my list sounded sounded scary. I got a couple of visits from Mario, the manager, and Mike, the senior engineer, and one of their senior job bosses. They were all knowledgeable, helpful, positive, and suggested that I use steel supports instead of concrete to save space. Work started in August when Dewey and JT started knocking off the top 2 courses of block. "The Gents" - Dewey (the job boss) Devon, Jimmy, Matt, and Dave - did wonderful work. Because of Murphy's Law, we had to knock some walls down and rebuild them because of bowing, and we ended up adding an internal French Drain. They set rebar, poured tons of concrete, dug footers, put up steel support beams, installed glass block windows, put down sill plates, and rebuilt the front where the garage doors will be. I cannot even begin to say how pleased I am with the work they did. And they were a lot of fun to boot! They let me video them daily, tease them mercilessly, and they had the good grace to laugh when my dog made off with their breakfast jerky. There is still some work to do when the house actually gets here in April - insulating the outside wall, backfilling, putting the sump pumps in, rebuilding the center wall, and digging footers for the porch. I have absolute confidence in Highlander Waterproofing and "The Gents." I would recommend them highly and with no reservations to anyone who needs foundation work. I will add to this post with the final pictures in April.

John and his crew were professional answered all my questions and explained it fully. They were careful of my ceramic tile that was put down less than a year ago. When taking out the old wall they dealt with rows of glass bottles, door hinges and chisels and let us know that these obstacles took extra time.. While working on the foundation they had to deal with alot of rain. My front yard was a mess from the machinery. When they were finished they leveled out the track marks, the only thing I need to do is add grass seed

They did not complete the job and are blowing me off now.

"We had previously advised our customer Gary that we would like to wait 30 days from the initial installation to check on the progress of the cement curing. We are, by no means, looking to disregard our customer's concern and we look forward to connecting with him soon to review the work and see that he is 100% satisfied with our response."

I had severe foundation water damage to my kitchen walls & flooring. My house sits on a hill so kitchen is partially underground. It all seemed quite hopeless to fix, but from the salesman to the crew they reassured me & were never in doubt! They completed the work in 3 days. Now itâ s dry as a bone! I was also very impressed with the cleanup after!

Do not use Highlander Waterproofing! The work that was done for me was very sloppy, problematic, no consideration for personal property and caused multiple damages. I hired them after a massive oak tree crashed on my house and water began to seep up to the floor and through the block walls. There was an existing French drain and a sump pump that had been working fine but with compromised after the pressure of the tree collapse. A Highlander Waterproofings , Tim T., came out on March 31, 2020 to assess the damage and the repairs needed. A new French drain system a second sump pump and hydraulic cementing all the interior/exterior cracks in the foundation block was Mr. Ts. findings. The cost came to $13,940.00. Mr. Ts findings were confirmed when another representative, a senior field inspector, Kevin Adams came out to evaluate on August 14, 2020 and removed $250.00 from the estimate. I signed a contract that same day. On August 26, 2020 work started. I had moved most of my personal property away from the walls except for a Bowflex that was bolted to the ceiling, laundry and kitchen appliances. They ripped a large chunk of my ceiling, destroyed baseboard, broke the knob off my dryer, bent the front panels off of both dryers and I have not been able to balance my washer since they moved it! Their supervisor said the cement would be filled in on a slight slope. The edges are 10 inches away from the wall and more than an inch higher than the existing floor, uneven, on a steep slope and in under two months the has multiple cracks! The general manager, Giulio Bevilacqua refuses to fix the floor, refuses to reimburse me so I can pay someone else, refuses to give me a formal letter explaining their cement work in detail. I have requested a formal explanation of why the cement is raised higher as much as 1-1/2 inches in some areas, why the edges were not smoothed out to the floor, and why in under two months are there CRACKS! So far I counted 7! Since HighlanderWaterproofing did their work MY DEHUMIDIFIER HAS NOT STOPPED RUNNING! Their supervisors excuse is YOU LIVE IN PITTSBURGH. My dehumidifier did not run all the time before they came out to repair my damages. Also, my estimate states inspect lower area of wall and repair, as necessary. Mix and seal areas with hydraulic cement Interior and Exterior also stated on my contract. The next day the company sent back one of the workers with a small bucket of what I assume was hydraulic cement. He ran out of the cement with only half the exterior completed. To this day they still have not finished their work! They used my shop vac to clean up their construction mess which ruined it. They used my stationary tubs to clean off their cement tools which turned my P -trap into a cement block clogging the drain that had to be immediately replaced before the sink could be used or the washer to drain. They have refused to reimburse me for any of these damages. They installed the second sumps discharge on top of my side flower bed where the water shoots out into my driveway next to my entrance sidewalk. This has already caused a significant rut that I have tripped and fallen into. When it freezes it will be a sheet of ice right at the area of my sidewalk and will surely be a safety concern. However, it is not a concern to Highlander Waterproofing and they have refused to address that issue as well. Please DO NOT US...
Response from

"Upon completion of this project on 8/28, we were told that the customer was pleased with the scope of work and we collected the final balance paid in full at that time. We were later contacted on 9/18, 3 weeks later, with a "laundry list" of miscellaneous complaints. We were more than happy to review any items Jennifer was concerned with, but by 10/7, she was demanding a $5000 refund for unfounded claims of damages that don't exist. Unfortunately, due to Jennifer's incessant stream of shouting on the phone, and in-person, when attempting to communicate and come to a resolution, we have had to escalate Jennifer's unreasonable, unfounded demands and defamatory claims to our attorney. She has recently updated her demand to a full refund of the contracted price, which we were previously told by this customer, was an insurance claim. The threat of a negative review will not strong-arm us into providing a refund when we have completed work that we stand behind and warranty. We are still willing and ready to remedy any concerns that are valid, and we hope to resolve this matter soon."

Knowledgeable salesperson and great service. Job was done in 2 days. The only reason we didn't give straight 5 rating was because they weren't able to finish the concrete work initially estimated since their crew was let go for the season.
