Here is a sign of a good company. I had several proposals outstanding. During my initial meeting with the owner I mentioned that I did not want the bed in the front of the house irrigated. The next day I called and got a second estimate requesting irrigation of that area. Due to circumstances, i did not enact the contract for three months. Star went off of the first proposal. I noticed the lack of irrigation, mentioned it, and they came out right away and installed the front house bed sprinkler. This was not a big job for the company and they could have put this off but they responded immediately. To me, and I have dealt with many, many contractors, this is the mark of a very professional company. Besides, one of the best landscape designers in the area highly recommends Star Sprinklers and they have lived up to expectations. I highly recommend this company. Mike was very quick to come by, take a look at the property, and recommend some activities to prepare the lawn, trees, and flower beds for winter. He was knowledgeable, nice, and put us at ease about our property. An estimate was provided the next day, and the price seemed more than fair. I agreed to it and Mike's crew were there the next morning taking care of everything with little disruption. Leaves were piled neatly for the city to vacuum (which they did that afternoon), beds were de-weeded, and the lawn provided with winterizing fertilizer. Mike came to check in afterwards and ensured the work was done. I assumed I would be mowing our property after the winter, but after the work that was done this week I'll definitely considering contracting Pontonio's Lawn Service to take care of it for us so we can focus on the gardening and just enjoy the lawn and landscaping. The trenches were not deep enough, and whenever it rains, you can see the PVC pipes through the ground. When I approached Rich in regards to my dissatisfaction with the sprinkler install, he blamed the 'kid's' who where his own workers. When I had the lawn aerated later, the sprinkler system was broken in 4 places as the pipes were so superficial to the ground. I then called ECL to have him come and take a look at it to try and fix it. ECL did come out in a timely manner to fix the pipes and leaks, after I paid him. I also gave him money to buy a new sprinkler head, and he stated that he would be back the very next day to install it. The next day, he was a no call no show, and told me that he could not do the work because he no longer had the sprinkler head. It turns out he used the sprinkler head that I purchased, for someone else's sprinkler system. Since then he has been a no call no show on many other appointments, and I still do not have my sprinkler system completely fixed. I would not recommend ECL Irrigation to anyone looking for sprinkler system help, because he did lousy work from the beginning, blamed his own young inexperienced for the poor job, and has been unprofessional the whole time."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/nj/sewell/ecl-irrigation-reviews-8051642.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"EcoLandscapes","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"PA","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Diana C."},"reviewBody":"The Estimate: When Dan came out for an estimate, he told me that I could probably handle seeding/fertilizing my small front and back yards by myself. But he gave me a price if I wanted him to do it anyway. His price for putting down gravel on the side yard was lower than an estimate I had gotten previously, so I hired him for both jobs. He also happily answered my numerous novice lawn/yard questions. The Work: Dan came and seeded/fertilized the front and back yards on the agreed upon date. The day before the gravel work was scheduled Dan e-mailed to let me know that his workers would be arriving late the next day due to another job. I appreciated the heads-up. The day after the majority of the gravel was installed Dan came by himself to finish up the side yard. In the contract I signed with him, it said that the company would put down more seed if the lawn was still patchy/bare after 2 weeks of watering for 15 minutes each day. I diligently watered the lawn for the 2 weeks and noticed some bare patches but wasn't sure if it warranted a callback for more seed. Well, Dan took the initiative and added more seed to my lawn after he had finished up the gravel work on the side yard. And finally, he answered still more of my lawn/yard questions. I was very happy with his service and am a very satisfied customer. I would definitely hire him again for future landscape jobs. We also have a number of mature oak trees on the property, although we have had some of these trees removed during the last few years. Finally we believe that our expectations are reasonable. We're not looking for a putting green. We just want a nice lawn, like everyone else. The first two years went fairly well and were an improvement over the previous lawn fertilization company. The third year was average. We seemed to have a few more weeds along the perimeter, i.e along fences and concrete walks. There was also very little grass in a small triangular area surrounded by a six foot fence, a concrete walk and a storage shed. Things got worse in year 4. The number of weeds increased. My wife felt that the technician was skipping the back yard, although we couldn't be certain. By late summer the grass was thin, except for the front area, which by then had complete, direct sunlight (no trees). Year five became the deal breaker. The weeds were a lot worse. I was on my knees in the front yard pulling out the many chickweeds. I finally wondered why I needed to perform this activity -- since I was paying for a lawn service! My wife had since retired. She was able to actually witness the Pro Lawn technician skipping the aforementioned triangular area. She contacted Pro Lawn with poor results. Finally on one occasion the Pro Lawn technician damaged a simple,wooden post trash can protection assembly that I had built a number of years ago. The technician initially stated that he only bumped the assembly. Despite repeated phone calls the assembly was never repaired by Pro Lawn. One Pro Lawn employee told my wife during a phonecall that his wife could repair the damage in 20 minutes. I'm still waiting for her to show up. This year I'm growing chickweeds in the front lawn. All thanks to Pro Lawn."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/nj/vincentown/pro-lawn-reviews-6543247.htm"},"position":10}]}

"We hired Plymouth Meeting Nursery to completely transform the exterior landscape of our 100+ year-old home, where we live with our three young children and our ever-faithful golden retriever. As a licensed landscape architect, we approached this project with high standards and were looking for a contractor who offered fair, transparent pricing, excellent craftsmanship, and timely execution. Plymouth Meeting Nursery delivered on all counts. The scope of work was extensive and included the demolition of all existing landscaping, a deck, concrete walkways, fencing, and excess soil. In its place, the team installed new fencing, a beautiful cedar pergola, repointed brickwork on our home, irrigation, a synthetic lawn alongside fresh sod and thoughtfully selected plantings, outdoor lighting, a stunning bluestone patio with brick steps and retaining wall, a brick and bluestone fireplace, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen featuring a grill, sink, ice maker, and refrigerator. The project spanned nearly five months, during which a few scope changes arose. Each one was handled professionally and flexibly by John and his team. Their commitment was clear: the crew showed up consistently and kept the momentum going, which we greatly appreciated. We couldn’t be more proud of the results and highly recommend Plymouth Meeting Nursery for your next outdoor project. They’ve helped us create a space that’s not only functional and beautiful—but truly feels like a new extension of home."

"This was the best decision we could've made after buying our first home and finding ourselves with a whole lotta yard space to play with. We didn't know much about what or how to tackle our space, and Eva helped us put together a design and plan of action that was completely custom to us. The best part was the confidence of knowing we were spending money on something that would work, rather than continuous trial and error on our own, without any guidance and hours and hours of research. Eva is such a gem and a wealth of knowledge. Highly highly highly recommend!"

FAQs for lawn irrigation projects in Narberth, PA
While watering your lawn by hand might save you money upfront, installing and using a lawn irrigation system does save you money over time. You are less likely to overwater your lawn with a professional irrigation system, which will cause a reduction in water usage. These systems use the right amount of water without waste. In addition, watering your lawn the correct amount will also help prevent different fungi from growing, saving you money in fungi removal costs.
Lawn irrigation is the process of getting water to your lawn, grass and all, for it to grow. There are five main types of lawn irrigation methods:
Manual irrigation puts you in charge of the flow of water. Using a sprinkler head on your hose is best to evenly distribute the water across your entire lawn. This doesn’t take much time but requires you to be physically outside holding the hose.
Above-ground sprinklers attach to your hose and rotate or oscillate around your lawn. Since these are above-ground, they’ll need to be moved when it’s time to mow, and depending on the size of your property, you might need to move it around your yard for full coverage.
In-ground sprinklers are flush with the ground when not in use but pop up above the ground level when it's time to water the lawn. Piping for these sprinklers is all found underground, and there are different types of sprinkler heads for different uses and lawn sizes.
Drip irrigation involves drip lines that are more efficient than sprinklers for more extensive lawns. This involves a lot of digging since they are installed underground, but it makes it easy for you to mow.
Rainwater collection and irrigation uses nature’s precipitation to water your lawn. This option might not be available in every area since semi-reliable rainfall is needed, though the barrels for this system can range from 15 gallons to 10,000 gallons or more.
Even though having a lawn irrigation system to water your lawn is efficient, you do not want to run it daily. It’s best to run your system two to three times a week. The length of time to run your system varies on factors like wind, temperature, and the variety of your grass, but 10 to 20 minutes each time is generally preferred. If you water too frequently, you’ll drown your grass and plants.
The cost of a lawn sprinkler system is $2,550 for the average homeowner. However, this price can range from $350 to $5,000 or more, depending on the type of sprinkler system you install, the size of your yard, and the type of sprinkler heads you choose. For example, rotating or oscillating sprinkler heads are more expensive than stationary ones, making the cost for one sprinkler head $2.50 to $30 each. Likewise, a yard that is 1/4 of an acre in size averages a total average price of $2,460; however, a one-acre yard averages a cost of $9,840.
The total time it takes to install a lawn irrigation system is roughly one to two days. This includes digging trenches for any necessary underground piping, placing the piping, wiring, sprinkler heads, and valves, and connecting your sprinkler system to your water supply. If you have a lawn larger than one acre, or if there are any municipality regulations that extend the project, you can expect the timeline to be closer to two days.
