"As first time home owner, it is tough finding service people who are reliable and trustworthy and who aren’t looking to just patch the problem. AJ did everything he could, short of coming to assess the problem in person (because of Covid), to address the issue I was having with water in the back of my house. He is very responsive and very knowledgeable! I walked him through the problem over facetime and afterwards he gave me a clear assessment of what exactly was happening (in a way I could understand) and instructions as to what to do to fix it. It ended up being a problem that had to be addressed by a roofer, but I wouldn’t know that without AJ. I definitely recommend AJ if you need a knowledgable and reliable home water expert! "My house is located in a wet area and I always have water coming into my crawlspace, even if it hasn't rained in several weeks. The moisture issues are compounded by the presence of iron ocher, which would cause the trench drain and sump pit in my crawlspace to clog and overflow unless I crawled back into it and treated it with bleach/chlorine every week. Basement Systems suggested a plan to install a new drainage system and relocate my sump to an area that would be much easier to access and maintain. They upgraded the existing sump pump to a triple safe system with three pumps (including a battery backup!) so I have multiple redundancies in place to prevent flooding. They also wrapped my crawlspace with a heavy duty vapor barrier to keep all of that moisture from permeating up through my house. I couldn't have been happier with Javier and his crew, and my wife had no qualms about having them in our house while I was away at work. They called me several times to communicate their schedule, and took care to protect the flooring on the main level of my house. Javier was more than willing to work with me to route the sump discharge pipes in the area I wanted them. He and his crew worked very hard and put in extra hours to have the job completed on schedule in two days even though they ran into several unexpected issues. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work, the professionalism of the crew, and the integrity of company, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Basement Systems to anyone."

He did a very thorough exam of our foundation and gave us an honest answer as to the best way to proceed and alternatives to that primary option. They all three were very polite and professional. Mike explained everything they were doing and answered all of my questions. They worked really hard installing supports and sistering joists as well as putting down a vapor barrier. Mike stayed in the house and made sure things were going back to level while Chris and Brady made adjustments underneath the house. they cleaned up when they were done, and they cleaned up their workspace so well that you couldn't tell they were even there. We also have peace of mind knowing that we have a service plan with them so that if something goes wrong, AFS will be there for us. Definitely check AFS out for all of your foundation needs. I'm glad we did!!"

Carlos and crew showed up a bit late due to traffic, apologized profusely for the delay, which I was fine with since it was out of their control. The crew stayed late and finished the job in one day. "I had a small but complicated, hard to access, and structurally essential repair job on a 60-year-old concrete deck attached to my 280-year-old Pennsylvania limestone farmhouse. I contacted several masons listed for my area on Home Advisor, and included Mr. Grady as a long shot -- I read about his expertise with historical structures and wished I had access to such an expert craftsman, but I didn't think he'd be interested in my teeny job and assumed I wouldn't be able to afford him anyway. He was the first one to return my call and to look at the job, and I thought his price was fair. I believe now it was way more than fair, considering the time he spent. He did extensive research, going over a structural engineer's report I had done previously on the deck and even examining the original architectural drawings and materials invoices from 1959. He showed up at least three times to complete the repair in stages, and has been back a half a dozen times since then to check the job -- and my location is not exactly in his neighborhood. He accepted only enough payment in advance to pay for lodging for himself and his assistant when they stayed nearby one night in order to be there early the next morning. He gave and continues to give free advice about preserving my stone house and patio. If you prod him a little, he might even share some of his personal philosophy, earned over a lifetime of work that is clearly more of an art form than a job to him. Overall, I'd say you can hire one of many competent contractors and get an adequate job, or you can hire Mr. Grady and get superior work by someone who cares about your property as much as you do."

They complied with all my needs and still were very friendly after I made multiple color changes and new ideas up to the day before they started, I had them install a new roof, siding, gutters, front door, plus storm door and new windows (that had to be reframed do to size change that I wanted ) I would recommend them to anyone pricing was better then 3 other companies that I had come to my home."
