"Cullen and his team were great! Ripped out the exsisting lawn, brought in new topsoil and graded it, spread new grass seed, and covered it with mushroom compost. His team also cut new edging and mulched all the flower beds. Grass is coming in very nicely and we couldn't be happier with the result. Cullen and his team are excellent workers and would recommended to anyone needing landscaping services."

Customers say: Quick response

"I screwed up the pavers in our rather large outdoor patio when I tried using Sakrete as grout. Turns out it was a bad idea as the pavers absorbed the Sakrete and the “grout” dried very unevenly. TJ and his crew ground down the excess / dried grout and then used a special / very fine grout that spread and dried evenly. The pavers and the patio now looks like new! These guys did great work and I can’t thank them enough (they even fixed a cracked sprinkler pipe while they were there - they saved the day!). I highly recommend TJ for any of your remodeling needs - trust me, you won’t be disappointed!"

"Absolutely satisfied with the entire process. This is truly a great company- from beginning to end, they were very responsive, punctual and professional. We had an old long gravel/grass driveway that they graded and paved. They also listened to concerns we had with water historically flowing and pooling where the road met our drive. They put great thought and time into working to configure the new drive in a manner that would allow the water to bi-pass. I was extremely satisfied with the price for the precision of work performed and would highly recommend."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

You’ll first need to install a base underneath your pavers for extra stability and drainage. Otherwise, the pavers can sink into the ground, and you’ll have to reinstall them. Use a base gravel layer of 4 to 6 inches for walkways and 10 to 12 inches for driveways. Compact your gravel layer every 2 to 4 inches so it’s nice and solid. After you install your gravel base, apply a 1-inch layer of sand on top.

Asphalt, which is stone mixed with tar, is the most common material for outdoor basketball courts because it’s so sturdy and versatile. However, you don't have to use it: another option is polymeric rubber, which has shock pads that can prevent injury. This option is a little more expensive, ranging between $16 and $25 per square foot.

Materials used for indoor basketball courts, such as hardwoods, aren’t really an option outdoors.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Yes, pea gravel is good for driveways as long as your driveway isn’t built on a hill or any type of slope where it can slide. It’ll settle on a flat surface and create a suitable driveway over time, though some spreading initially will take place. If you're wondering how to make a gravel driveway in a high-rainfall area, using pea gravel could help you to cut down on costs needed for extra drainage solutions.

While water-related pressure caused by poor drainage is one common cause of paver cracking, other factors can include ground movement beneath pavers, heavy loads and wear and tear over the pavers, and climates with constant freeze-thaw cycles. In general, pavers should be resealed every three to five years to prevent cracking.
