Customers say: Quick response

"The guy who came out was great. I was expecting to need to spend a lot on adding insulation to the walls and attic. The guy went around with a thermal camera and checked various spaces and recommended some stuff that I could do myself or hire an inexpensive contractor to do. Very happy that I didn't need to spend thousands of dollars!"

"Brick wall of the house had been leaking and after trying various things from a roofing perspective, realized that there were too many holes in the old mortar. Got a quote on the same day Mike came to look. He gave me a few options on what could be done to fix the problem. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Very straightforward and a pleasure to work with. Had to work with the weather as far as when he could do the job, but as soon as he was able, he called to say when he would be there. Prompt. Great crew! Polite and hard working. I especially liked that I only had to tell Mike once about things and he made sure they were taken care of. For example, when he came out to give the quote I had a few random missing stones and bricks from other walls. I didn't have to mention them again, they were all taken care of. He brought me outside periodically to see what they were doing to make sure I was happy with the work. Really great experience considering I had been dreading getting the work done, thinking it would be a huge ordeal. They finished in 2 days, cleaned everything up beautifully. Work is superb. Would definitely use him again!

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for experienced individuals. Professional installation ensures compliance with building codes and proper sealing.

The proper way to install a window well is to measure the window, dig a hole deeper and wider than the window, place a drainage tube and cap, anchor the well to the foundation, caulk the seam, and backfill the hole. The job requires tools such as a hammer drill and auger and some heavy digging. Proper placement and window well installation are critical to preventing water from leaking into the window.

Installing a window well costs anywhere from $500 to $1,500 or more. Adding an egress window and well runs about $3,900 on average. Adding a window well cover to the project can add $200 to $700. A well cover helps protect your egress windows from weather damage and keeps them clear of dirt, debris, and wildlife.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

New window installation costs range from $300 to $1,500 per window, depending on size, material, and energy efficiency features.
